Product Short Description
Product Introduction
KS1-10-B is a factory-terminated 40-pin dual-ended shielded signal cable exclusively designed for Yokogawa CENTUM CS1000, CS3000 and CENTUM VP DCS racks. It transmits analog 4–20mA, digital discrete and bus communication signals between I/O modules, field terminal blocks and control station backplanes with zero signal distortion under industrial EMI interference.

Material Composition
- Inner conductor: Tinned copper multi-strand fine wire
- Core insulation: Flame retardant PVC
- Shield layer: Aluminium polyester foil + 0.5mm² tinned copper drain wire
- Outer sheath: Low-smoke zero-halogen flexible PVC
- Connector housing: Reinforced PA66 engineering plastic
- Connector pins: Gold-plated copper alloy
Structural Characteristics
- Round single-unit cable structure, single shield layer integrated design
- Dual 40-pin D-sub locking connectors at both ends with screw locking mechanism
- Internal conductor bundle with separator to avoid core friction damage
- Strain relief rubber sleeves at both cable ends to prevent conductor breakage from bending fatigue
Working Principle
Transmits low-level analog and digital control signals via tinned copper conductors; continuous foil shielding layer diverts external electromagnetic noise to cabinet ground through drain wire, isolating interference from reaching signal cores to maintain accurate voltage/current signal transmission to DCS I/O modules.
Advantage Highlights
- Factory pre-assembled with guaranteed pin-to-pin continuity, no on-site termination labor
- Optimized shielding performance for petrochemical, power plant high-interference environments
- Direct plug-and-play compatibility with all Yokogawa KS1 series I/O racks
- Flame retardant outer sheath meets industrial fire safety standards
- Uniform impedance matching eliminates signal phase shift for high-speed bus communication
Applicable Industries
Oil & gas refining, thermal power generation, chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, water treatment, pulp & paper, metallurgical process control
Installation Requirements
- Route separately from high-current power cables with minimum 30cm separation distance
- Secure drain wire single-point grounding at control cabinet backplane only (no dual-end grounding)
- Maintain minimum bend radius of 39mm during routing, no sharp kinks
- Install cable tray with plastic separators to avoid abrasion damage
- Lock connector screws to 0.8 N·m torque to prevent loose contact
Usage Precautions
- Do not cut or modify cable length; modification voids shielding integrity and factory warranty
- Avoid exposure to direct UV sunlight and corrosive chemical vapors long-term
- Prevent cable compression under heavy mechanical loads
- Disconnect power to DCS rack before plugging/unplugging connectors
- Store coiled cable at room temperature without over-tight binding to avoid sheath deformation
