Working Principle

External IEPE piezoelectric accelerometer converts mechanical machine casing vibration into charge-based electrical signal. VM-3024H internal circuit supplies constant current excitation to the sensor, charge amplifier converts charge signal into standard voltage waveform. 24-bit high-speed ADC samples vibration signal, digital processor simultaneously computes RMS/Peak/EQP vibration values, executes FFT fast Fourier transform to decompose signal into frequency domain spectrum. Measurement data and spectrum waveform are rendered on touch LCD screen, and raw waveform data can be written to SD flash memory card for offline post-fault diagnosis.

Material & Structural Characteristics

  • Outer Housing: ABS engineering plastic with integrated soft TPU anti-drop rubber wrap-around protection
  • Touch Screen Panel: Tempered scratch-resistant glass LCD with anti-glare coating for outdoor sunlight visibility
  • Battery Pack: Lithium polymer rechargeable cell with overcharge/discharge protection circuit
  • Sensor Input Socket: Threaded locking SMA connector to prevent accidental cable disconnection during field operation
  • Control Buttons: Membrane silicone touch buttons with dustproof sealing structure
  • Internal Circuit Board: Miniature low-power SMD PCB with electromagnetic shielding metal can for analog signal circuits

Installation & On-Site Operation Requirements

  1. Mount piezoelectric accelerometer firmly to machine bearing housing via magnetic base or threaded stud; hand-held probe measurement only for temporary rapid inspection
  2. Keep sensor cable as short as possible during measurement; excessive cable length introduces high-frequency signal attenuation
  3. Fully charge lithium battery before long-duration field inspection; low battery voltage distorts low-amplitude vibration measurement accuracy
  4. Store instrument in matching shockproof hard carry case when not in use; avoid heavy extrusion or impact transport
  5. Calibrate instrument with standard vibration shaker bench every 12 months per ISO 16063-21 vibration measurement standard
  6. Clean SMA sensor connector contacts with isopropyl alcohol regularly to remove industrial oil contamination causing signal noise

Application Scenarios

  • On-site predictive maintenance spot inspection of factory motors, pumps, fans and blowers
  • Power plant turbine, generator auxiliary equipment field vibration fault diagnosis
  • Petrochemical plant centrifugal pump, compressor bearing defect spectrum analysis
  • Shipping marine engine, propeller machinery vibration survey and acceptance inspection
  • Steel mill rolling mill gearbox abnormal vibration frequency spectrum capture
  • Wind turbine generator, gearbox field portable vibration data logging

Operation & Maintenance Precautions

  1. Do not expose instrument to continuous high-temperature environments above 50°C; internal lithium battery suffers capacity degradation
  2. Prevent liquid oil, coolant or chemical solvent splashing onto touch screen surface; chemical erosion damages display coating
  3. Remove SD memory card only after executing software safe eject procedure to avoid waveform data file corruption
  4. Avoid strong magnetic field environments (near large transformers) during measurement; magnetic interference distorts FFT spectrum results
  5. Use only factory-matched IEPE accelerometer sensors; mismatched sensor sensitivity causes incorrect vibration amplitude readings
  6. Disconnect sensor cable during long-term storage to eliminate standby battery power drain
