Working Principle
Three-phase sinusoidal current from Rexroth IndraDrive servo drive energizes stator windings to generate rotating magnetic field. High-performance rare earth permanent magnet rotor produces constant magnetic flux, and magnetic field interaction outputs stable large torque to drive heavy mechanical loads. Multi-turn absolute encoder collects real-time rotor position and rotation circle data, transmits digital feedback signal to drive for high-precision closed-loop vector control. When motor power supply cuts off, 24VDC holding brake spring pushes friction plate to lock rotor shaft completely, preventing vertical axis load free fall. Built-in temperature sensor transmits winding temperature signal to drive; once over temperature threshold, drive automatically limits output torque to protect motor winding from burnout.
Material & Structural Characteristics
- Motor Housing: Thick die-cast aluminum alloy with black anti-oil electrophoretic coating, external heat dissipation rib structure
- Stator & Rotor Core: High-grade low-loss silicon steel laminated sheet, reduce high-current eddy heat loss
- Rotor Permanent Magnet: High coercivity neodymium iron boron magnet, high temperature demagnetization resistance
- Shaft & Bearing: Medium carbon steel quenched solid shaft, double-row heavy load rolling bearings with high-temperature grease lubrication
- Shaft Seal: Double-layer nitrile rubber rotary seal ring, resist cutting fluid and metal dust penetration
- Brake Assembly: Dry friction disc brake with spring locking structure, 24VDC electromagnetic release coil
- Encoder Housing: Sealed aluminum alloy end cap, aviation multi-pin waterproof connector
Installation Requirements
- DIN 42948 standard flange four-point mounting, fixing bolt tightening torque 35 Nm
- Strictly control shaft coupling coaxiality error ≤0.03 mm to avoid bearing fatigue damage
- Vertical installation recommended for lifting heavy loads; horizontal mounting allowed for horizontal transmission axes
- Power and encoder cables adopt Rexroth original shielded servo cables, double-end shield grounding
- Brake 24VDC power supply must independent from main drive power to avoid brake failure under load
- Reserve ≥50 mm heat dissipation space around motor housing, avoid contact with machine tool metal wall
- Install below 1000 m altitude; derate 15% torque when operating above 1000 m
Application Scenarios
- CNC machine tool heavy-duty spindle feed axis, gantry machine vertical lifting axis
- Large printing press paper unwinding/rewinding heavy tension drive axis
- Metallurgy steel coil winding, slitting machine heavy load servo drive
- Automated logistics large stacker crane vertical lifting servo
- Rubber & plastic extruder main screw drive axis
- Hydraulic press auxiliary heavy-duty positioning servo axis
Operation & Maintenance Notes
- Test brake holding function under no-load condition before formal heavy load operation
- Clean motor housing surface cutting fluid and metal chips every day to ensure heat dissipation efficiency
- Replace bearing lubricating grease every 10,000 operating hours with Rexroth designated high-temperature grease
- Do not disassemble encoder end cap privately, internal absolute position data will be lost after disassembly
- Avoid long-term continuous operation at peak torque, only allow short-time acceleration overload
- Prevent cutting fluid long-term soaking of motor connector; regularly check connector sealing rubber ring aging condition
