Product Short Description

Product Name
HMS single-axis servo inverter/drive interface for IndraDrive motion systems, also quoted as HMS011N-W0070-A-07-NNNN.
Product Introduction
This unit operates as a single-axis inverter in Rexroth IndraDrive systems. It converts DC-bus power into controlled three-phase motor current, executes closed-loop speed and position regulation, and communicates with higher-level controllers through servo interface modules. The option structure A-07 defines the communication slot position, and NNNN defines no integrated safety option.

Description

DC-bus nominal voltage: 750 VDC.
Communication slot position 07: SERCOS II or PROFIBUS DP according to mounted interface card.
Safety option NNNN: no onboard STO/SS1; external safety circuit required when safety stopping is mandatory.
Cooling: forced air with integral fan.
Protection class: IP20.
Weight: approximately 5.3 kg.
Functional Features
Single-axis current regulation for synchronous and induction servo motors.
Closed-loop support for resolver, incremental encoder, and sin/cos feedback through the connected drive controller.
PWM power stage with adaptive current control.
Integration with IndraWorks engineering software.
Diagnostics through drive controller status, fault codes, and communication monitoring.
Application Scenarios
CNC feed and spindle axes.
Packaging, labeling, printing, and converting machines.
Injection molding machines.
Robotics, gantries, and semiconductor handling equipment.
Performance Parameters
Rated motor current must not exceed 70 A continuous per axis.
DC-bus voltage is maintained by the HMV/HVR supply module.
Dynamic response, current ripple, and positioning accuracy depend on motor inductance, encoder resolution, and communication cycle time.
Materials And Construction
Sheet-metal/cast enclosure with conductive coating for EMI shielding.
IGBT power module, DC-link capacitors, control PCB, and fan assembly.
Standard cabinet mounting frame and grounded metal chassis.
Working Principle
The inverter receives regulated DC bus voltage from the supply module. The control board calculates current setpoints from position/speed commands and feedback signals. PWM switches in the IGBT bridge regulate motor phase current. The communication card transfers setpoints, actual values, and diagnostics between the drive and the automation controller.
Installation Requirements
Mount vertically in a control cabinet with specified clearance for fan airflow.
Connect DC-bus poles from the Rexroth supply module with correct torque and insulation.
Connect motor output terminals according to motor phase identification.
Install the communication card in slot A position 07 before energizing.
Provide grounded cabinet, ambient filtering, and overcurrent protection on the supply side.
Usage Precautions
Only qualified personnel perform wiring and commissioning.
Because NNNN contains no integrated safety, install external safe-torque-off or contactor isolation.
Verify firmware and communication card compatibility before replacing an existing HMS drive.
Do not operate the fan intake or exhaust without free airflow.
Confirm motor continuous current, peak current, and encoder type before startup.
