Product Short Description
Product Introduction
The Woodward 9905-726 is a 2301A series electronic load sharing and speed control module designed for industrial prime movers such as turbines, generators, and drives. It maintains constant speed (isochronous mode) or adjusts speed based on load (droop mode) while distributing electrical load evenly across paralleled generators. It is a critical component in parallel power generation systems.

-
Automatic load sharing in droop mode for parallel generator sets.
-
Flexible mode switching between isochronous and droop.
-
Compatible with Woodward proportional actuators for valve positioning.

Application Scenarios
-
Power Generation: Steam/gas turbine control for grid frequency stability.
-
Marine Propulsion: Shipboard turbine engine control with load sharing.
-
Industrial Cogeneration: Balancing electrical load and thermal steam demand in refineries and paper mills.
Working Principle
The module receives speed feedback from a magnetic pickup or similar sensor and compares it to the setpoint. In isochronous mode, it drives the actuator to hold speed within ±0.1%. In droop mode, it adjusts speed proportionally to load. Multiple units communicate load signals via the load-sharing line to distribute electrical load evenly.
Installation Requirements
-
Mount in a standard industrial cabinet with adequate ventilation.
-
Provide 24 V DC (10–40 V DC range) power supply.
-
Connect speed sensor (MPU) and load-sharing lines.
-
Connect actuator output to proportional actuator or fuel valve.
-
Use shielded wiring for all signal connections.
Usage Precautions
-
Observe ESD awareness; handle with grounded wrist strap.
-
Ensure proper setting of speed range and droop adjustment before start-up.
-
Do not exceed the specified operating temperature range.
-
Periodically verify CT/PT phasing to prevent paralleling errors.
-
Follow Woodward 2301A Installation & Operation Manual for commissioning.
