Working Principle

Three identical independent circuit branches receive identical digital output logic commands from the Tricon backplane simultaneously. Each branch independently processes signal switching logic and generates output drive signals. A dedicated hardware voting chip compares three branch output states, and only executes the output action when at least two branches output consistent logic levels. All channel fault detection circuits continuously sample output load impedance and voltage; fault signals are transmitted to the controller backplane and trigger front-panel alarm LEDs. The aluminum rib housing dissipates heat generated by isolation transformers and drive circuits through passive convection cooling.

Advantage Highlights

  1. SIL3 highest safety integrity level certification, fully compliant with IEC 61508 functional safety standard
  2. TMR triple redundant architecture completely eliminates single-point failure of safety output loops
  3. Wide temperature and vibration resistance adapts to offshore, petrochemical and power plant harsh environments
  4. Hot-swap function minimizes unplanned production downtime during module maintenance
  5. Full-channel electrical isolation eliminates cross-channel interference and ground loop damage
  6. Integrated comprehensive self-diagnosis system achieves zero-blind-spot fault detection for all output paths
  7. Unified compatibility with all Tricon Tricon CX / Tricon V10 / Tricon V11 safety controller racks

Applicable Industries

Petrochemical refining, onshore & offshore oil & gas exploitation, thermal power generation, nuclear auxiliary safety control, chemical hazardous material processing, boiler safety interlock systems, pipeline pressure protection, mining safety shutdown control

Installation Requirements

  1. Install only into dedicated Tricon series redundant safety rack slots; strictly prohibit mixing with non-TMR I/O modules
  2. Maintain minimum 20 mm vertical ventilation clearance above and below the module rack for passive heat dissipation
  3. Field wiring must use shielded twisted-pair cables with cable shielding single-point grounding at the cabinet earth bar
  4. Torque for output terminal wiring screws is fixed at 0.6 N·m to avoid terminal pin deformation
  5. Cabinet ambient temperature must be controlled within 0 ℃ ~ 60 ℃ during long-term continuous operation
  6. Rack cabinet must reach IP54 minimum protection grade to prevent dust and condensate ingress

Usage Precautions

  1. Forbid connecting inductive loads without surge absorption diodes to output channels; inductive back EMF will damage internal drive chips
  2. All maintenance operations must be executed under safety isolation lockout/tagout procedures per site functional safety rules
  3. Do not remove the module while the rack backplane power supply is live without activating hot-swap permission via TriStation software
  4. Regularly calibrate module fault diagnosis function every 12 months via official TriStation diagnostic tool
  5. Avoid exposing the module to chemical vapor, salt fog and corrosive gas environments without sealed cabinet protection
  6. Replace modules with factory-original DO3201 parts only; third-party substitute modules invalidate SIL3 safety certification
