Working Principle
The RM401 module communicates with the ship’s main automation controller via Modbus/CANopen marine bus. Four digital input channels continuously sample dry contact switch signals from marine limit switches, liquid level sensors, fire detection contacts; input signal status data is uploaded to the main controller via fieldbus. The main controller transmits relay switch control commands back to RM401 module; internal drive circuits actuate mechanical relay contacts to switch 24VDC/AC power loads for marine pumps, valves, alarm horns and indicator lights. All channel hardware faults are automatically detected and fault codes transmitted to the main controller for workstation alarm prompts.
Structure & Material
- Housing: Transparent front cover flame-retardant ABS plastic DIN rail module shell; transparent cover allows direct visual observation of LED indicators without opening cabinet door
- Internal Hardware: Isolated input signal conditioning PCB, four independent mechanical signal relays with arc suppression circuits
- Terminals: Multi-row screw terminal blocks on module bottom for field DI/DO load wiring and bus communication wiring
- Physical Weight: 0.5kg
Installation Requirements
- Snap mount onto standard 35mm DIN rail inside marine dehumidified electrical cabinet
- All field sensor and load wiring use marine-grade shielded control cables, single-point grounding of cable shielding at cabinet grounding busbar
- Maintain 20mm vertical gap between adjacent I/O modules for heat dissipation of relay contact arc heat
- Separate low-voltage signal wiring from high-current pump power wiring (≥30cm clearance) to eliminate electromagnetic interference
Application Scenarios
- Ship engine room auxiliary pump, cooling fan automatic start-stop control
- Cargo hold ballast valve, drain valve limit switch signal collection and valve drive control
- Marine fire detection, smoke alarm contact signal acquisition, alarm siren relay output control
- Vessel cabin ventilation system, lighting automation control
- Offshore platform machinery room safety interlock signal processing
Operation & Maintenance Notes
- Monthly check front panel LED indicator status, record faulty input/output channels for scheduled overhaul
- Every 12 months inspect relay contact condition; frequent switching loads will cause contact ablation and require module replacement
- Tighten all wiring terminal screws semi-annually to eliminate loose contact caused by ship hull long-term vibration
- Do not connect load current exceeding 8A to relay output contacts to prevent relay contact melting damage
