Product Short Description
Product Brief Introduction
This is a rack-mounted master control unit belonging to Rolls-Royce Common Control System (CCS / Damatic Strategy marine automation platform, exclusively developed for vessel and offshore safety-critical control loops. It acts as the central computing node to unify propulsion, dynamic positioning, ship power distribution and auxiliary machinery logic processing, certified by major marine classification societies (DNV, LR, ABS) for continuous 24/7 marine duty cycle operation.

Working Principle
The internal PowerPC processor continuously collects analog temperature, pressure, speed signals and digital switch status from field sensors via CAN bus and RS485 interfaces. Calculation logic programmed via marine dedicated engineering software runs on fixed 250 μs cycles; output control commands to drive thruster valves, generator regulators and main engine governors. All running data is synchronously transmitted to ship bridge HMI through dual Ethernet, and abnormal parameter thresholds trigger hardware-level interlock cut-off protection immediately to avoid marine equipment failure.
Material Composition & Structural Characteristics
- Outer Housing: Machined marine-grade 5052 aluminum alloy, anti-corrosion passivation surface treatment, salt spray resistant for offshore environments
- Internal Circuit Board: FR4 high-Tg flame retardant PCB, gold-plated signal pins for long-term vibration contact stability
- Connector Components: Industrial metal circular aviation plugs + spring terminal blocks, dustproof rubber sealing gaskets
- Structural Layout: Front panel integrated all communication ports and status LED indicators; rear side VME standard rack locking guide rail; internal independent separated power supply, signal processing and communication shielding compartments to isolate electromagnetic crosstalk
Installation Requirements
- Mounting Method: Standard 19-inch marine control cabinet VME rack horizontal slot installation, fixed with two front panel locking screws
- Cabinet Ambient Demands: Must reserve forced air cooling ventilation channel, ambient temperature cannot exceed 70 °C during continuous operation
- Wiring Standard: Power cable uses shielded 1.5 mm² twisted pair wire; signal communication lines separated from high-power AC cables by minimum 30 cm distance
- Ground Specification: Separate analog signal ground and power protective ground, single-point cabinet grounding resistance less than 4 Ω
- Spacing Rule: Leave at least one empty rack slot between this controller and high-frequency inverter modules to reduce EMI interference
Application Scenarios
- Ocean-going cargo vessels, passenger ferries, offshore supply ship dynamic positioning main control
- Offshore oil & gas drilling platform power and propulsion integrated automation system
- Marine gas turbine generator unit centralized monitoring and control cabinet core unit
- Naval vessel auxiliary machinery unified control system
- Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) process safety control cabinet
Operation & Usage Precautions
- Strictly avoid power supply voltage below 18 VDC or over 32 VDC; voltage fluctuation exceeding range will trigger automatic controller shutdown protection
- Do not plug/unplug CF memory card while the module is powered on, which will damage firmware storage and cause system crash
- Prevent seawater mist, oil liquid or chemical solvent from splashing onto front panel communication connectors
- Annual maintenance required: Tighten all terminal block wiring screws, clean dust inside ventilation slots with dry compressed air
- Firmware version replacement must use Rolls-Royce official matched program; third-party modified firmware will void marine classification certification
- Do not operate the module outside rated temperature range for more than 2 consecutive hours, permanent circuit board thermal degradation will occur
