Product Short Description
Product Name: 6410 series microstepping drive for 2-phase stepper motors
Product Introduction: A compact DIP-configured chopper drive that accepts step-and-direction pulses and regulates bipolar winding current for hybrid stepper motors in industrial motion axes.
Technical Specifications:
- Output current: 0.625–5.0 A rms selectable, 7.1 A peak
Description
- Supply voltage: 24–75 VDC single supply
- Step modes: Microstepping up to 50,000–51,200 steps/rev (fixed), variable modes supported on sibling firmware
- Chopper: Two-phase bipolar current-regulated, 20 kHz nominal
- Protection: L-L / L-N short, undervoltage, overvoltage, short-circuit
- Interface: Optically isolated step/dir/enable inputs, MOSFET power stage
- Options on 6410-007-N-N: No cover, no heatsink, no connector kit
- Operating temp: 0–50 °C, 10–90 % RH non-condensing
Functional Features: Mid-band instability compensation, digital electronic damping, idle current reduction, selectable step filter, bipolar chopping for low ripple, DIP-switch commissioning without software.
Application Scenarios: Indexing tables, feeder drives, small CNC axis, lab automation stages, conveyor belt positioning.
Working Principle: Step and direction pulses set the commanded rotor angle; an internal counter advances the microstep vector; the bipolar chopper compares actual phase current to the sine/cosine reference and PWM-switches MOSFETs to force winding current to track the microstep profile.
Installation Requirements: Mount on panel with clearance for convection (heatsink optional), supply filtered 24–75 VDC, set DIP switches for current and microstep before energizing, isolate logic inputs from noisy sources.
Usage Notes: Never swap DIP settings under power; motor must match 2-phase bipolar; peak current rating is time-limited by thermal design; no channel-to-channel isolation from DC bus.
