Product Short Description
Product Name
Moore Industries HIM Smart HART Loop Interface and Monitor, HART input with two analog outputs, 24 V DC DIN model.
Product Introduction
This interface monitor reads digital process variables from a HART smart transmitter or valve and converts selected HART variables into independent 4 to 20 mA analog outputs for DCS, PLC, recorders or monitoring systems without replacing existing control hardware.
Description
Technical Specifications
Input HART digital communication with one addressed device; compatible with common HART revision devices. Two analog outputs 4 to 20 mA, fully scalable, load capacity up to 1100 Ω. Power 24 V DC, 4-wire. Housing universal DIN style for G-type and top-hat rail. Integral display according to configuration. Update time approximately 120 ms. Isolation 500 V rms channel-to-channel and 1000 V rms between inputs, outputs, power and housing. Operating temperature -40 to 85 °C. Hazardous-area options Non-Incendive/Division 2/Zone 2, RoHS compliant.
Function Features
Primary, secondary, listen-only or burst HART modes, mapping of PV/SV/TV/QV to either analog output, PC configuration software, local display, full galvanic isolation, enhanced EMI/RFI immunity in designated versions and legacy system HART enablement.
Application Scenarios
Smart transmitter interfacing, multivariable flow/pressure/temperature conversion, valve-position monitoring, burner/manifold gas metering, water/wastewater SCADA, oil and gas custody/auxiliary monitoring and plants where DCS lacks native HART cards.
Performance Parameters
Output span adjustable with minimum 4 mA span, accuracy governed by HART device variable and output calibration, response suitable for slow/moderate process trends, isolated outputs prevent ground-loop errors.
Material Composition
Industrial plastic DIN enclosure, internal HART modem circuitry, isolated DC-DC and output stages, LCD/display option, terminal blocks, copper signal tracks and EMC filtering components.
Structural Characteristics
Compact DIN rail module with HART input terminals, two 4 to 20 mA output terminals, 24 V DC power terminals and optional display window. Removable wiring terminals simplify replacement.
Working Principle
The module connects to the HART instrument loop, communicates digitally with the addressed device, extracts engineering values, scales each selected variable and drives an independent 4 to 20 mA transmitter output. Galvanic isolation separates HART input, analog outputs and power to prevent ground loops.
Installation Requirements
Mount on G-type or top-hat DIN rail inside a suitable enclosure. Connect 24 V DC 4-wire supply, HART loop polarity per manual and output wires to DCS/PLC analog inputs. Use PC configuration cable to assign device address, variables and scaling.
Usage Precautions
Confirm HART device address and variable selection before startup. Do not exceed output load resistance. For hazardous areas use only approved configuration and enclosure. Maintain proper grounding and separation from high-power wiring to preserve signal accuracy.
