Product Short Description
Product Overview
IOM402 is a DNV-GL, ABS, Lloyd’s Register certified marine dedicated input/output module manufactured by Lyngso Marine (SAM Electronics / Wärtsilä Group). It serves as the signal interface unit for shipboard MCS2200 machinery control system, collecting sensor signals from main engine, auxiliary machinery, cabin monitoring equipment and output control drive signals to marine actuators, designed to withstand severe marine environments including salt mist, vibration, wide temperature fluctuation and high humidity.

Working Principle
- Ship field sensors (temperature, pressure, liquid level, valve position) transmit analog/digital signals into IOM402 isolation input circuit
- Analog signals are converted to digital data via 12-bit ADC, temperature signals linearized by internal calibration algorithm
- Processed signal data transmits to MCS2200 rack master controller through dedicated marine internal bus
- Master controller sends control commands back to IOM402 digital output channels to drive marine valves, pumps, alarms and auxiliary equipment
- Built-in fault detection circuit continuously monitors all channel circuit integrity, triggers front panel fault LED alarm when abnormal
Installation Requirements
- Install inside ship dedicated electrical control cabinet, equipped with dehumidification heating device to avoid cabinet internal condensation
- Separate power cables, analog sensor cables and digital control cables into different wiring trunking
- All signal cable shielding layers single-point grounded to ship protective earth distribution board
- Fix DIN rail mounting firmly with locking clips to resist hull navigation vibration and shock
- Maintain 15mm ventilation gap around module to prevent heat accumulation in closed cabinet
Application Scenarios
- Cargo ship main engine temperature, pressure and vibration monitoring system
- Marine auxiliary boiler, cooling water pump, fuel pump automatic control
- Cabin bilge water level, fire detection, valve remote monitoring & control
- Offshore platform machinery safety interlock automation system
- Yacht and passenger ship environmental monitoring and HVAC control
Marine Special Operation Notes
- Regularly inspect cabinet dehumidifier operation; condensation inside module will cause circuit corrosion failure
- Use only marine certified shielded cables for all field sensor wiring
- Quarterly tighten all terminal block screws; hull long-term vibration easily causes loose wiring
- Do not deploy modules near ship exhaust pipelines with high temperature radiation
- After long voyage in coastal saltwater area, inspect PCB conformal coating integrity every year, re-coat if peeling appears
