Material & Construction
- Flame-retardant plastic housing compliant with UL 94-V0
- Laminated magnetic core with precision air gap for Hall element placement
- Potted internal electronics for vibration and moisture resistance
- Integrated electrostatic shield between primary and secondary circuits
Operating Principle
- Primary current flowing through the transducer aperture generates a magnetic field concentrated by the magnetic core.
- A Hall effect sensor positioned in the core air gap detects the magnetic field and produces a proportional voltage signal.
- A secondary compensation coil generates an opposing magnetic field that cancels the primary field, maintaining zero flux in the core (closed-loop null balance).
- The resulting secondary current is directly proportional to the primary current, scaled by the winding turns ratio.
Installation Requirements
- Panel mount installation with appropriate mounting hardware
- Pass primary conductor through the transducer aperture centered in the opening
- Connect secondary output to measurement circuitry via the JST connector
- Connect DC power supply with correct polarity and adequate filtering
- Maintain adequate clearance for high-voltage primary circuit safety
Certifications EN 50155 railway compliant, UL recognized, CE marked
