The LR-W500C is KEYENCE flagship multi-spectrum reflective color & mark detection sensor, engineered for high-stability color discrimination, contrast mark reading, and object presence detection in harsh automated production lines. It integrates RGB full-spectrum light emission, digital signal processing, IO-Link industrial communication, and adaptive anti-interference algorithms to eliminate detection errors caused by ambient light, surface gloss, or color fading. Detection range covers 30mm to 500mm long-distance reflective sensing.

Working Principle
- RGB tri-color LED emits full-spectrum light onto target surface; light reflects back into internal high-precision color receiver.
- Internal DSP chip separates red, green, blue light intensity signals, calculates chromatic aberration and contrast value of the target.
- Compares real-time chromatic data with pre-taught reference color threshold to output switch signal or transmit digital data via IO-Link.
- Adaptive frequency modulation automatically suppresses interference from factory fluorescent / LED flickering light sources.
Installation Requirements
- Mount via standard M3 screw holes on housing flanges, tightening torque limited to 0.5 Nm to avoid housing deformation
- Maintain 5 mm minimum clearance between sensor lens and target to prevent signal saturation
- Avoid direct strong reflective metal surfaces parallel to lens within detection range
- M12 cable wiring sequence strictly follows factory pin definition; shielded IO-Link cable recommended for distances over 10 meters
- Vertical/horizontal mounting allowed; do not install upside-down with lens facing upwards in heavy dust environments

- Clean lens only with lint-free cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol; abrasive cloth, acetone, strong solvents forbidden

- Annual inspection of mounting screw tightness to eliminate vibration loosening
- Prohibit long-term direct UV radiation exposure (over 8 hours daily), will accelerate lens yellowing
