Product Short Description
Product Overview & Brief Introduction
FC-TSRO-0824 is an 8-channel relay output marshalling terminal module for Honeywell FSC safety control racks, equipped with onboard miniature safety-rated mechanical relays to switch external high-power AC/DC field loads from low-voltage safety controller logic signals. Each channel’s relay contacts are fully isolated from rack logic circuits, enabling direct switching of high-current safety shutdown actuators.
Description

- Channel Configuration: 8 independent Form A normally-open safety relay output channels
- Relay Coil Drive Voltage: 24VDC logic drive from safety rack
- Relay Contact Rating: Max 5A resistive load per channel (250VAC / 30VDC contact switching)
- Contact Isolation: 2500VAC dielectric isolation between coil logic and load contacts
- Relay Mechanical Service Life: ≥10,000,000 operations under rated load
- Operating Temperature: -20°C ~ +60°C continuous duty
- Fault Detection: Coil open circuit, relay contact welding self-diagnosis per channel
Function Features
- Onboard safety-certified mechanical relays eliminate external relay panels, reducing cabinet space requirements
- Per-channel dual LED status indicators: Coil energization status + contact fault alarm
- High dielectric isolation separates low-voltage rack logic and high-power field load circuits
- Built-in transient surge suppression for inductive motor and valve loads
- TMR redundant signal compatibility with SIL3 triple modular redundant safety controllers
- Spring screw terminals supporting heavy-gauge load wiring up to 4.0mm² cross-section
Working Principle
Low-voltage 24VDC coil drive signals from the FSC safety I/O card energize internal miniature safety relays when an actuation command is sent. Isolated relay Form A contact terminals on the module front panel switch external high-power field circuits (AC pumps, large safety shutoff valves). Internal diagnostic circuits monitor coil impedance and contact continuity; welded contacts or open coil faults trigger local LED alarms and digital fault flags transmitted to the safety CPU. High-voltage isolation barriers prevent back EMF and load circuit surge energy from damaging the low-voltage safety rack hardware.
Material Composition & Structural Characteristics
- PCB Substrate: Heavy copper trace FR4 flame retardant printed circuit board for high-current load signal stability
- Terminal Blocks: Black PA66 high-temperature screw terminals with copper alloy heavy-duty clamping hardware
- Relay Components: SIL2-certified sealed miniature mechanical safety relays with silver alloy contact points
- Surge Protection: Metal oxide varistor (MOV) transient suppression devices integrated per relay channel
Installation Requirements
- Horizontal rack mounting inside ventilated safety control cabinets; full-load operation requires cabinet cooling fans
- Inductive load circuits must install external surge arrestors parallel to load terminals to extend relay service life
- Separate high-current load wiring and low-voltage logic wiring into isolated cable trays
- Earth ground bus bar connection to module chassis for surge discharge protection
Application Scenarios
- Large industrial boiler fuel shutoff valve high-current relay drive terminals
- Oil refinery emergency shutdown pump motor control safety relay assemblies
- Chemical plant furnace flame failure air intake damper actuator switching cabinets
- Waste incinerator over-temperature safety load cut-off relay marshalling systems
Usage Precautions
- Do not exceed 4A continuous load per relay channel to avoid accelerated contact wear and welding failure
- Conduct annual relay contact resistance testing to identify degraded silver contact surfaces
- Replace modules immediately if terminal blocks show heat discoloration from overloaded contact circuits
- Maintain minimum 20mm vertical clearance above module for heat dissipation during full-load operation
