Product Short Description
Product Brief
DC-TUIO31 is a non-redundant universal signal termination base plate exclusively developed for Honeywell Experion PKS Series C300 distributed control system. It acts as the physical wiring bridge between field process instruments and DCS I/O modules, supporting software configurable mixed analog/digital/pulse signals on all channels, optimizing control cabinet wiring layout and reducing marshalling cabinet space occupation.

- Built-in channel independent surge suppression circuit for field signal transient protection
- No internal redundant signal path hardware; single-channel fault isolation without cross-channel interference
Working Principle
Field instrument analog/digital/pulse signals are connected to front terminal blocks; built-in signal conditioning circuits filter and suppress transient surges for each channel; conditioned signals are transmitted through rear gold finger connectors to the upper C300 I/O module for analog-to-digital conversion or digital signal acquisition. The DCS controller downloads channel configuration parameters to the I/O module, which dynamically assigns each physical channel to input/output function modes without hardware re-wiring.
Core Function Features
- Full 32-channel software reconfigurable multi-signal universal interface, eliminating dedicated single-signal termination plates
- Integrated channel-level surge and ESD protection to block field wiring lightning transients
- Plug-and-play terminal blocks supporting rapid field wiring modification without tool disassembly
- Compatible with 2-wire, 3-wire, 4-wire industrial transmitters
- Supports pulse counting input for flow meter, encoder, and turbine instrumentation
- Real-time channel open/short circuit fault diagnosis feedback to DCS HMI
Advantage Highlights
- Single base plate replaces 3–4 separate dedicated termination modules, greatly reducing cabinet wiring quantity and space occupation
- Channel-level independent fault isolation prevents single instrument wiring failure from affecting entire I/O group
- No hardware modification required for signal type switching; configuration completed via DCS engineering software
- Low power consumption design reduces cabinet heat load
- Full Honeywell Experion PKS native compatibility without third-party conversion adapters
Applicable Industries
Petrochemical process control, thermal power plant DCS system, metallurgy continuous casting control, pharmaceutical batch production automation, water treatment distributed monitoring, natural gas pipeline transmission control
Installation Requirements
- Mount on standard 35 mm DIN rail inside IP54 industrial control cabinet
- Reserve ≥20 mm vertical clearance between adjacent DC-TUIO31 modules for heat dissipation
- Separate analog signal wiring and high-power digital output wiring into different cable bundles, maintain minimum 10 cm routing separation
- 24 VDC power supply wiring must use twisted shielded cables with single-point cabinet grounding
- All field instrument signal cables require shielding layer grounded at cabinet terminal only (single-end grounding)
Operation & Maintenance Precautions
- Do not plug/unplug the module backplane connector while powered; cut off 24 VDC supply before disassembly
- Verify terminal screw torque (0.5–0.8 N·m) every 6 months to avoid loose wiring contact resistance drift
- Replace internal surge suppression components if lightning surge fault alarms occur repeatedly
- Prohibit wiring AC power signals to any channel terminals; only 24 VDC low-voltage field signals are permitted
- Avoid installing near high-frequency variable-frequency drive equipment without additional signal isolation barriers
