Description
Functional Features:
- Floating-point control for proportional positioning (0–100% open)
- Manual override: Local handwheel with automatic/manual switchover
- End-stop limit switches: Built-in SPDT switches for full open/closed indication
- Feedback signal: 2–10 VDC proportional position feedback (optional on some variants)
Performance Parameters:
- Linearity: ±2% of full stroke
- Deadband: <1% of signal range
- Insulation resistance: >100 MΩ at 500 VDC
- IP Rating: IP54 (housing)
Material Composition: Die-cast aluminum housing, stainless steel shaft, nylon gear train, EPDM seals
Structural Features: Cylindrical actuator body with DIN rail or direct mount bracket; 3-wire control cable (common, signal, feedback); quarter-turn output shaft
Working Principle: The control signal (2–10 VDC) drives an internal reversible motor. The motor turns a gear train connected to the output shaft. Limit switches at 0% and 100% positions cut power when fully open or closed. The floating-point design allows the actuator to stop at any intermediate position proportional to the input signal.
Advantages:
- High torque for large dampers (up to 15 sq ft face area)
- Proportional control enables modulating HVAC operation
- Robust construction for outdoor and harsh environments
Applicable Industries: Commercial HVAC, building automation, industrial process control, cleanrooms
Installation Requirements:
- Mount actuator perpendicular to damper shaft
- Use 18 AWG shielded cable for control signals
- Set control signal range (2–10 V or 0–10 V) via internal DIP switch before commissioning
Usage Notes:
- Do not exceed 24 VAC/VDC supply voltage
- Verify end-stop switch wiring matches BMS input requirements
- Lubricate gear train annually in dusty environments
