Material Composition & Structural Characteristics

  • Main chassis: Extruded aluminum alloy frame with gray anodized anti-oxidation surface, IP30 metal front panel with dustproof rubber plug for unused ports.
  • Circuit board: FR4 industrial PCB with full polyurethane conformal coating to resist moisture, dust and chemical vapor corrosion.
  • M12 port housings: Nickel-plated brass threaded sleeves with EPDM sealing gaskets, glass fiber reinforced plastic port inserts.
  • Terminal block: Screw-type spring load terminal for power and alarm relay wiring, flame retardant PA66 plastic.
  • Internal heat sink: Integrated aluminum heat spreader bonded to main switching IC to dissipate passive heat without cooling fans.

Working Principle

Received Ethernet data packets on each port are buffered in on-chip memory, classified by MAC address and VLAN tag, then forwarded to target ports via high-speed crossbar switching fabric without blocking. Embedded industrial protocol processor continuously monitors network link health, ring topology state and dual power input voltage; triggers potential-free relay alarm if link failure, power loss or hardware fault occurs. All port signals undergo EMC surge filtering before reaching switching chip to suppress industrial interference noise.

Installation Requirements

  1. Standard DIN rail mounting (35mm EN DIN rail); vertical or horizontal installation allowed, maintain 20mm top/bottom clearance for heat dissipation.
  2. M12 cable requirement: Use shielded industrial M12 Ethernet cables matching port coding (D/X code); cable shield 360° bonded to connector metal sleeve for EMC shielding.
  3. Dual power wiring: Connect two independent DC power sources to P1 and P2 terminal blocks for redundant power backup; minimum wire gauge 0.75 mm².
  4. Grounding: Connect chassis earth screw to cabinet protective ground with 2.5 mm² shielded wire to eliminate ground loop interference.
  5. Avoid installation location with direct liquid splash or heavy conductive dust; install IP67 sealed cabinet if deployed outdoors.
  6. RJ45 unused ports must be covered with supplied rubber dust plugs to maintain internal IP30 rating.

Application Scenarios

Automated guided vehicle (AGV) network communication, railway rolling stock control network, port container crane control systems, mobile construction machinery, factory production line fieldbus backbone, offshore platform auxiliary equipment monitoring network, food/beverage washdown automation lines.

Operation & Maintenance Precautions

  1. Do not plug/unplug M12 cables under live power; hot disconnection generates ESD surge which may damage port transceiver chips.
  2. Do not use non-shielded consumer-grade RJ45/M12 cables; unshielded wiring causes packet loss in high EMI workshop environments.
  3. Regularly clean M12 port sealing gaskets every 12 months; replace aging rubber gaskets to avoid water/dust ingress.
  4. Firmware upgrade must be executed under stable power supply; power cut during flashing leads to module boot failure.
  5. Do not short-circuit alarm relay output terminals; overcurrent burns internal relay contact points.
  6. Operating ambient humidity exceeding 90% requires additional cabinet dehumidifier to prevent PCB condensation.
