Product Short Description

Technical Specifications:

  • Communication Protocol: CANopen (DS 301 V4.02)
  • Node ID Range: 1–127 (settable via DIP switches or software)
  • Baud Rate: 125 kbps to 1 Mbps (configurable)
  • DC Motor Output: Up to 24 VDC, 5 A continuous per channel
  • Channels: 2 independent DC motor outputs
  • Supply Voltage: 24 VDC (bus-powered or externally powered)

Description

Functional Features:

  • CANopen PDO mapping: RPDO/TPDO for real-time motor command and status
  • Profile supported: CANopen Device Profile for Drives (DSP 402)
  • Operating modes: Homing, position, velocity, torque
  • Fault monitoring: Overcurrent, overtemperature, undervoltage, communication loss

Performance Parameters:

  • Control loop frequency: 1 kHz (position/velocity)
  • Position resolution: 16-bit (65536 steps per revolution equivalent)
  • Response time: <5 ms from CAN command to motor output change
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +70°C
  • IP Rating: IP20 (DIN rail mount housing)

Material Composition: FR-4 PCB, aluminum enclosure, gold-plated CAN connector, screw terminals for motor output

Structural Features: DIN rail (35 mm) mounting; CAN bus connector (DB9 or M12); 2 sets of screw terminals for DC motor connections; LED status indicators (Power, CAN, Fault, Motor 1, Motor 2)

Working Principle: The module receives CANopen SDO commands to configure parameters and TPDO commands for real-time motion control. The internal microcontroller translates CANopen drive profile commands into PWM signals that drive H-bridge DC motor outputs. Feedback (if encoder connected) is sent back via RPDO.

Advantages:

  • Native CANopen DSP 402 profile eliminates custom programming
  • Dual-channel independent control from single CAN node
  • Wide operating temperature range for industrial use

Applicable Industries: Valve automation, linear actuator control, solar tracking, AGV drives, process control

Installation Requirements:

  • Terminate CAN bus with 120 Ω resistor at each end of the network
  • Use twisted-pair shielded cable for CAN (maximum 40 m at 1 Mbps)
  • Connect 24 VDC power supply (minimum 2 A for full load)

Usage Notes:

  • Set unique Node ID for each module on the CAN network
  • Configure PDO mapping via CANopen configurator software before operation
  • Do not exceed 5 A per motor channel continuously
