Working Principle
Receives analog vibration waveform signals from field transducers; analog front-end circuit amplifies and filters raw sensor signals, digital DSP computes vibration magnitude metrics, compares measured values against user-configured threshold limits to activate alarm/trip relay outputs and transmit measurement data via communication bus.
Advantage Highlights
- Dual channel simultaneous monitoring reduces rack slot count for multi-bearing machinery setups
- Galvanic full isolation eliminates ground loop measurement distortion between machine and control rack
- Compatible with all standard rotating machinery vibration sensor technologies
- Hard relay trip contacts provide fail-safe safety interlock independent of digital communication links
- Modbus digital connectivity enables full integration into plant distributed control systems
Applicable Industries
Steam/gas power turbine protection, centrifugal compressor monitoring, refinery pump condition surveillance, paper mill dryer roll vibration monitoring, steel mill rolling mill machinery protection
Installation Requirements
- Install module within EPRO standard 19-inch 3U MMS6000 rack chassis
- Wire sensor input cables to isolated front terminal blocks; separate signal wiring from power wiring
- Connect relay trip contacts in series with machinery emergency shutdown safety circuit
- Terminate RS485 Modbus bus with 120 Ω end-of-line resistor at last module on communication chain
Operation Precautions
- Perform full threshold calibration after sensor installation or replacement
- Maintain cabinet ambient temperature below +60 °C to prevent measurement drift
- Test relay alarm and trip function monthly via module front-panel simulation mode
- Use only EPRO factory-specified shielded sensor cables to meet measurement accuracy specifications
