Product Short Description
Product Overview
The SP4402 belongs to Emerson CT Unidrive SP modular multi-purpose drive platform, a high-performance 400V class AC drive integrating open-loop vector, closed-loop flux vector and high-precision servo control in single hardware unit. It supports both motoring and regenerative power feedback operation, targeting complex industrial motion and variable speed motor control scenarios with high dynamic response and energy recovery demand. It adopts fully digital DSP core control architecture to unify asynchronous induction motor, permanent magnet servo motor and spindle motor control without hardware replacement.

Working Principle
- AC three-phase mains input passes EMC filter and rectifier bridge to convert alternating current into DC bus voltage
- DSP core executes real-time vector algorithm to generate PWM drive signals for IGBT power modules
- IGBT converts DC voltage into variable frequency/variable amplitude three-phase AC to drive motor stator winding
- In regenerative braking status, motor operates as generator, reverse current flows through IGBT rectifier circuit to feed power back to grid
- Encoder feedback signal is sampled at microsecond level to form closed-loop speed/position control loop for high precision motion regulation
Installation Requirements
- Mount vertically inside standard industrial control cabinet; reserve minimum 100mm upper and lower ventilation clearance for heat dissipation
- Input power cable must match 10mm² copper wire for full rated load; shielded twisted pair cable mandatory for encoder and analog signal wiring
- Separate power wiring and signal wiring routing distance ≥30cm to suppress electromagnetic interference
- Ground terminal connected to cabinet protective earth with dedicated 6mm² grounding cable, grounding resistance ≤4Ω
- Ambient operating temperature range: -10°C to +45°C; derate output power 1% per 1°C above 45°C, maximum allowable ambient temperature 50°C
- Storage temperature: -40°C to +70°C; avoid condensation environment with relative humidity 5–95% non-condensing
Usage Precautions
- Do not perform power cycle within 3 minutes after shutdown to prevent DC bus capacitor damage
- Disconnect main power supply before opening drive cover for maintenance; wait minimum 15 minutes for capacitor full discharge
- Strictly match motor rated voltage and current parameters during parameter setup; incorrect motor data will trigger overload protection and motor burnout
- Do not operate drive without load test for long duration; no-load operation easily causes unstable PWM waveform and internal component aging
- Regularly clean heat sink fan dust every 3 months in dusty industrial workshops to prevent overheating shutdown
- When using regenerative parallel DC bus configuration, all parallel drives must connect identical AC power source to avoid cross-circuit short-circuit risk
