Working Principle
Each channel contains isolated signal sampling circuit converting field 4–20 mA analog current to digital 16-bit measurement values. Onboard HART demodulator extracts superimposed digital HART data from analog current waveform. Digital signal processor transmits all channel measurement and HART data across DeltaV backplane high-speed bus to system controller. Backplane power circuit provides stabilized isolated power to all eight input channels independently.

Installation Requirements

- All field wiring routed through rack cable duct separated from high-voltage power wiring
- Rack power supply must deliver regulated 24 V DC ±10% SELV industrial power
- Maintain minimum 20 mm vertical airflow clearance above and below fully populated rack chassis
Usage Precautions
- Do not connect field circuits exceeding 33 mA maximum field current limit per channel
- Disconnect all field-side wiring before performing module hot-swap replacement
