Product Short Description
Product Name: Emerson CE4003S2B3 (KJ3222X1-BA1) DeltaV Series 2+ 8-Channel Isolated Analog Input Module with HART.
Product Overview: An 8-channel, galvanically isolated analog input interface module for the Emerson DeltaV distributed control system (DCS).
The “B3” suffix denotes the redundant I/O carrier variant, designed for 1:1 redundant configurations in safety-critical and SIL 2 applications. It acquires 4–20 mA signals from 2-wire or 4-wire HART transmitters.

- Weight: 0.18 kg
- Mounting: DeltaV redundant I/O carrier (hot-swappable)
Functional Features:
- 1:1 redundant pairing with millisecond-level bumpless switchover
- Dedicated redundant synchronization bus pins — incompatible with standard single-slot terminal bases (requires SE4003S2B3 terminal)
- On-board 24 VDC loop power eliminates need for external power supplies
- Built-in diagnostics for open-circuit, short-circuit, and out-of-range detection
- No manual calibration required; calibration data stored on module
- LED status indicators for power, fault, and channel activity
Working Principle: Each of the 8 channels receives a 4–20 mA current signal from the field transmitter. A precision shunt resistor
converts current to voltage, which is digitized by a 16-bit A/D converter. The DSP applies calibration coefficients, checks for
fault conditions, and transmits digital data over the DeltaV I/O bus to the controller. HART digital communications are superimposed on
the 4–20 mA analog signal and passed through to AMS Device Manager.
Application Scenarios: Boiler main pressure, steam drum level, reactor critical pressure, and other SIL 2 safety interlocking points in
power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical process control.
Installation & Usage Notes:
- Install exclusively in a DeltaV redundant I/O carrier using the matching SE4003S2B3 terminal block — do NOT mix with B1/B2/B4 terminals
- Verify 24 VDC loop power budget: maximum 500 mA per card
- For hazardous area installations, follow appropriate Emerson installation procedures
- Failed cards can be hot-swapped in safe (non-hazardous) areas without shutting down the process
- Never insert or remove a card under power in hazardous-classified locations
- Confirm channel isolation ratings before wiring to avoid ground loops
