Working Principle:
Field pulse signals are shaped and isolated by the module internal circuit. The high-speed counter circuit counts pulse quantity and calculates signal frequency. The counted data and frequency value are transmitted to DCS system, completing flow accumulation, rotational speed calculation and related statistics.
Advantages & Highlights:
- Wide frequency range adapting to various pulse type field devices
- Power-off data retention ensures no loss of cumulative flow data
- High-speed counting capability for high-frequency pulse signals
- Complete polarity and overvoltage protection
Applicable Industries: Flow measurement in chemical, water supply, power, oil & gas industries, equipment rotational speed monitoring
Model Series: Emerson Ovation Special Signal Input Module Series
Installation Requirements:
- Vertical installation on standard DCS rack
- Pulse signal wire uses shielded cable, separate from power wire
- Confirm signal type (NPN/PNP) before wiring
Usage Notes:
- Do not access pulse signal beyond rated frequency and amplitude
- Regularly check signal line shielding performance
- Clear cumulative data only when allowed by process requirements
- Prevent static electricity during module maintenance
