Product Short Description
Product Introduction:
The Emerson 1410S2AA32AD4N7RD is a head-mountable temperature transmitter that accepts RTD (Pt100) input and provides a 4–20 mA HART output. It is designed for direct sensor head mounting in pipe, vessel, or duct applications where space is limited. The transmitter features HART 7 communication for remote configuration and diagnostics.

Working Principle:
The transmitter applies a precise excitation current to the Pt100 RTD and measures the resulting voltage drop. The resistance is converted to temperature using the Callendar-Van Dusen equation. The microprocessor linearizes the signal, applies damping, and outputs a 4–20 mA signal proportional to temperature. HART communication superimposes digital data on the 4–20 mA signal.
Key Advantages:
- ±0.1°C accuracy without field calibration
- HART 7 enables remote diagnostics — reduces site visits
- NEMA 4X / IP67 rating for harsh environments
- 2-wire RTD simplifies wiring in existing installations
Applicable Industries: Oil and gas, power generation, chemical processing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, water treatment
Installation Requirements:
- Mount in thermowell with immersion depth ≥ 10× sheath diameter
- Use 3-wire or 4-wire RTD for best accuracy (2-wire has lead resistance error)
- Loop resistance: 200–1200 Ω at 24 VDC
- Torque process connection to 30 N·m
Usage Notes:
- Perform HART configuration using Rosemount 475 Field Communicator or AMS Suite
- Recalibrate every 2 years or per SIL requirement
- Do not exceed 42 VDC supply voltage
- Replace O-ring on cable gland annually in corrosive service
