Product Short Description

Product Introduction:
The Emerson 1410S2AA32AD4N7RD is a head-mountable temperature transmitter that accepts RTD (Pt100) input and provides a 4–20 mA HART output. It is designed for direct sensor head mounting in pipe, vessel, or duct applications where space is limited. The transmitter features HART 7 communication for remote configuration and diagnostics.

  • Weight: 0.6 kg (1.3 lb)

Functional Features:

  • HART 7 communication for remote configuration via handheld or DCS
  • Two-wire loop power — no separate power supply needed
  • Sensor fault detection (open circuit, short circuit, out-of-range)
  • Programmable damping: 0.5–32 seconds
  • Reverse polarity protection

Performance Parameters:

  • Linearity: ±0.05% of span
  • Hysteresis: ±0.03% of span
  • Long-Term Drift: ±0.05% of span per year
  • Input Impedance (RTD): 100 Ω (2-wire)
  • Output Load: 200–1200 Ω

Structural Features:

  • Compact 316L stainless steel housing
  • 1/2″ NPT process connection (bottom-mounted)
  • PG9 cable gland with O-ring seal
  • 4-button HART interface on top (or via HART communicator)
  • DIN rail clip optional (separate accessory)

Working Principle:
The transmitter applies a precise excitation current to the Pt100 RTD and measures the resulting voltage drop. The resistance is converted to temperature using the Callendar-Van Dusen equation. The microprocessor linearizes the signal, applies damping, and outputs a 4–20 mA signal proportional to temperature. HART communication superimposes digital data on the 4–20 mA signal.

Key Advantages:

  • ±0.1°C accuracy without field calibration
  • HART 7 enables remote diagnostics — reduces site visits
  • NEMA 4X / IP67 rating for harsh environments
  • 2-wire RTD simplifies wiring in existing installations

Applicable Industries: Oil and gas, power generation, chemical processing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, water treatment

Installation Requirements:

  • Mount in thermowell with immersion depth ≥ 10× sheath diameter
  • Use 3-wire or 4-wire RTD for best accuracy (2-wire has lead resistance error)
  • Loop resistance: 200–1200 Ω at 24 VDC
  • Torque process connection to 30 N·m

Usage Notes:

  • Perform HART configuration using Rosemount 475 Field Communicator or AMS Suite
  • Recalibrate every 2 years or per SIL requirement
  • Do not exceed 42 VDC supply voltage
  • Replace O-ring on cable gland annually in corrosive service
