Product Short Description
Manufacturer: ELAU (Schneider Electric)
Product Overview:
The ELAU C200A211100 is a compact servo drive from ELAU’s C200 series, designed for single-axis motion control of servo motors. The suffix breakdown: C200 = series, A = variant, 211100 = specific configuration code (voltage, current, feedback type).

Functional Features:
- Three-loop control: Current loop (1kHz), Velocity loop (200Hz), Position loop (configurable)
- Automatic tuning (motor identification via no-load and locked-rotor test)
- Electronic gearbox function for cam profiles and synchronized multi-axis motion
- S-curve acceleration/deceleration for smooth motion
- Safe Torque Off (STO) — SIL2/SIL3 certified (with option)
- Firmware upgradeable via CANopen or RS-232
Working Principle:
The drive rectifies AC input to DC bus (310–340VDC). The IGBT inverter stage (6-switch, 3-phase bridge) synthesizes variable-frequency, variable-voltage AC to the servo motor using Space Vector PWM (SVPWM). The current loop (inner loop, 1kHz) controls motor torque, the velocity loop (middle loop, 200Hz) controls speed, and the position loop (outer loop) controls position. The encoder feedback closes all three loops.
Advantages:
- Compact footprint — 140 x 160 x 200 mm
- High current bandwidth (1kHz) — excellent torque response
- Multiple feedback options — compatible with most encoders
- CANopen + EtherCAT — easy integration into modern networks
Applicable Industries:
Packaging machinery, printing presses, textile machines, material handling, conveyor systems, laboratory automation
Installation Requirements:
- Mount on DIN-rail or vertical panel with minimum 50mm clearance above/below
- Connect AC power via dedicated circuit breaker (10A for 230V, 6A for 400V)
- Connect motor power cables (3-phase + PE, max 10m, shielded recommended)
- Connect encoder cable using shielded twisted pair (max 15m for TTL, 50m for RS-422)
- Ground the drive chassis and motor frame
Usage Notes:
- Perform auto-tuning before first operation (mandatory)
- Set current limit to 110% of motor rated current during tuning
- Use shielded cables for encoder — route away from power cables
- Update firmware via ELAU PowerFacts software or CANopen SDO
