Description
Product Brief Introduction
Bender EDS460-D-1 is a DIN rail-mounted insulation fault location device exclusively designed for ungrounded IT power distribution systems (AC, DC, AC/DC mixed circuits). It cooperates with external toroidal current transformers to precisely locate single-point insulation degradation faults on distribution branches, continuously monitoring insulation resistance leakage current and output visual fault indication, relay alarm signals, and digital bus diagnostic data for shipboard power, medical location power stations, industrial DC drive systems, and battery energy storage IT networks, complying with IEC 61557-8 insulation monitoring safety standards.

Working Principle
The paired IRDH series insulation monitoring device superimposes a low-amplitude test measuring voltage across the ungrounded IT power system. When insulation degradation creates leakage current flow to protective earth, toroidal current transformers installed on each distribution branch capture the fault leakage current vector signal and transmit analog measurement values to EDS460-D-1 input channels. Internal multi-channel signal sampling circuits compare measured leakage current magnitude against user-configured 2–10 mA threshold values; any branch exceeding threshold triggers LCD fault branch number display, relay alarm contact actuation, and timestamped event storage to onboard memory. All fault diagnostic data transmits via RS-485 BMS bus to central monitoring SCADA systems for remote alarm notification and historical trend recording.
