Working Principle
Internal LED light source passes through precision optical grating disc rotating synchronously with motor shaft; receiving photodiode array converts light pulse sequence into weak electrical signal. Onboard signal amplification circuit shapes differential HTL A/B/Z quadrature pulse signals with phase shift for rotation direction discrimination. Hollow shaft mechanical structure couples directly to driven rotating shaft without elastic coupling to eliminate position measurement backlash error. Sealed internal optical chamber prevents dust and liquid contamination of grating disc to maintain long-term measurement accuracy.
Material & Structural Characteristics
- Main Housing: Die-cast aluminum alloy with anti-corrosion passivation coating, high mechanical impact resistance
- Rotor Hollow Shaft: Solid stainless steel precision machined blind bore shaft, wear-resistant for long-term rotation
- Sealing System: Double-layer fluorine rubber shaft lip seal + O-ring housing sealing for IP66 water/dust protection
- Internal Optical Assembly: Glass precision grating disc, shock-absorbing silicone buffer mount to isolate vibration transfer
- Terminal Connection: Dual side-mounted sealed terminal box, stainless steel cable gland anti-loosening cable fixation
Installation Requirements
- Blind hollow shaft directly sleeved onto motor drive shaft, secure via radial set screw with specified torque 3–4 N·m to avoid shaft slip
- Allow maximum concentricity tolerance ≤0.1mm between encoder hollow bore and drive shaft to prevent internal bearing premature wear
- Cable gland installation must tighten rubber sealing ring to maintain IP66 enclosure rating; use shielded twisted-pair differential signal cable
- Mount encoder flange with 4 standard M6 mounting bolts evenly torqued to distribute mechanical stress
- Avoid mounting position exposed to continuous high-temperature radiant heat source; maintain ≥20cm distance from furnace exhaust
- Signal cable shield single-point grounding at PLC/controller receiving terminal end only, double grounding causes ground loop signal distortion
Typical Application Scenarios
- Steel rolling mill main drive motor rotational speed & position measurement
- Port crane, container gantry crane lifting mechanism speed feedback
- Heavy-duty mining conveyor belt drive motor overspeed monitoring
- Wind turbine generator main shaft rotational position detection
- Hydraulic press main drive motor closed-loop speed control
- Outdoor construction machinery, asphalt paving machine motion feedback
- Furnace heat treatment equipment high-temperature motor position sensing
Operation & Maintenance Precautions
- Do not disassemble sealed housing; internal optical components contamination voids warranty and measurement accuracy
- Tighten shaft set screw quarterly to prevent shaft slippage leading to lost position feedback
- Clean terminal box cable gland area monthly to remove accumulated metal dust and cooling water residue
- If output signal pulse loss occurs, first inspect shield cable damage and grounding connection before encoder replacement
- Avoid excessive radial hammer impact on hollow shaft during installation to deform internal precision bearing
- Storage environment must maintain dry, non-corrosive gas, temperature range -20°C ~ +70°C
- Encoder must stop rotating before disconnection of signal cable to prevent electrostatic discharge damage to internal amplifier circuit
