Product Short Description

Product Name: Yokogawa ADV551-P60 Flow Transmitter

Product Introduction: The ADV551-P60 is a vortex flow transmitter manufactured by Yokogawa Electric Corporation. It measures the flow rate of liquids, gases, and steam using the vortex shedding principle. The “-P60” suffix denotes a pressure-rated variant with 60 bar (870 psi) maximum process pressure rating and 4–20 mA output with HART protocol.

Description

  • Repeatability: ±0.2% of reading
  • Turndown Ratio: 1:50
  • Pipe Size Range: DN15 – DN300 (0.5″ – 12″)
  • Protection Rating: IP67 (NEMA 4X)
  • Enclosure: Aluminum alloy, epoxy-coated

Functional Features:

  • Built-in temperature and pressure compensation
  • Low flow cut-off configurable
  • HART 7 communication for remote configuration
  • Self-diagnostics (sensor health, signal quality)
  • Pulse output option (OCT compatible)

Performance Parameters:

  • K-Factor Range: 0.3 – 100 pulses/L (configurable)
  • Response Time: <1 second
  • Pressure Drop: Negligible (bluff body design)
  • MTBF: >100,000 hours

Material Composition:

  • Sensor Body: SUS316L stainless steel
  • Bluff Body: SUS316L stainless steel
  • Flanges: Carbon steel or stainless steel (per order)
  • Seals: PTFE, Viton (per process fluid)

Structural Features: Inline flanged installation. No moving parts. Compact design with integral transmitter head. Weight: 3–12 kg depending on size.

Working Principle: A bluff body (shedder bar) is placed in the flow stream. As fluid passes, vortices are shed alternately from each side of the bar. The frequency of vortex shedding is directly proportional to flow velocity (Strouhal relationship). A piezoelectric sensor detects the vortex frequency and converts it to a flow rate signal.

Key Advantages: No moving parts — high reliability and low maintenance. Wide turndown ratio (1:50). Suitable for steam, gas, and liquid. HART enables remote diagnostics.

Applicable Industries: Oil & gas, chemical, power generation, steam distribution, HVAC, water/wastewater.

Model Series: Yokogawa ADMAG / ADV551 Vortex Series

Installation Requirements: Minimum 10D upstream and 5D downstream straight pipe (D = pipe diameter). Avoid installation near pumps or valves that cause turbulence. Flange bolts torque per ANSI B16.5.

Usage Precautions: Ensure minimum flow rate is above the low-flow cutoff to avoid measurement errors. Verify process pressure does not exceed 60 bar. Use proper grounding to prevent electrical noise.
