Working Principle:

1. The pull station is connected to the fire alarm control panel via a 2-wire supervised loop with an end-of-line resistor.
2. Under normal conditions, the circuit is supervised; the FACP continuously monitors loop integrity.
3. When the red lever is pulled, the internal contacts change state (N.O. closes, N.C. opens), creating an alarm condition.
4. The FACP detects the change and initiates alarm notification — audible horns, strobes, voice evacuation, etc.
5. The station must be manually reset using a key or authorized tool after activation.

Installation Requirements:

• Mount on a standard 4-inch square electrical box (single-gang or double-gang)
• Use 18 AWG minimum supervised signaling line cable (SLC) — 2 conductors + shield
• Maintain maximum loop length per FACP specifications (typically 3,000 ft / 914 m for Class B)
• Install end-of-line resistor (1kΩ, 1/4W minimum) at the last device on the loop
• Ensure wire connections are tight at screw terminals — no soldering required
• For outdoor mounting, verify gasket is properly seated and box is sealed
• Mounting height: 42 to 48 inches (1067 mm to 1219 mm) from finished floor per NFPA 72 / ADA requirements
• Keep clear of obstructions — minimum 36 inches (914 mm) of clear space in front

Usage Precautions:

• Do not cover or paint the pull station — this violates UL listing and may void warranty
• Do not disconnect the supervised loop without first notifying the fire alarm monitoring company
• Test monthly per NFPA 72 requirements — pull the handle and verify alarm at the control panel
• Reset only with authorized key/tool after each activation or test

• Inspect annually for physical damage, corrosion, or gasket degradation
