Description
Function Characteristics
- Load and Speed Regulation: It can regulate the load and speed of diesel engines in dual – engine marine applications, including those with flexible couplings.
- Fuel Limiting Features: Similar to other models in the series, it may have fuel – limiting features such as start fuel limiting, torque fuel limiting, and manifold or external fuel limiting.
- Single – Throttle Operation: It supports single – throttle operation, which simplifies the control process.
- Flexible Coupling Torsional Filtering: This feature can effectively filter the torsional vibration of flexible couplings, improving the stability of the system.
- Self – Diagnosis: It can perform diagnostic testing, including monitoring of the processor, baseline power supply, and memory, to ensure the integrity of the control.
- Configurable I/O Ports: It has a variety of I/O ports, some of which are configurable. For example, it has two – speed sensing inputs that can be used for magnetic pickups or proximity switches, and two configurable alarm relays.
Application Scenarios
The 8280 – 423 is mainly used in dual – engine marine applications where mechanical load sharing is required. It is suitable for ships with AUT – UMS, AUT – CSS, AUT – PORT, and AUT – IMS classifications, and meets the requirements of DNV Rules for Ships and other relevant standards.
