Product Short Description
Product Introduction
The GE VMIVME-7459 is a rugged, industrial-grade VMEbus mass storage module designed to integrate IDE-based optical and hard disk drives into VMEbus embedded systems. It occupies a single 4HP 6U VME slot and connects to the VMEbus via the P2 connector, providing a reliable, standards-compliant storage solution for legacy and industrial VME platforms. This module supports flexible configurations, including CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM drives, and optional IDE hard disk drives (up to 80GB) or CompactFlash storage. It enables direct, high-speed data access, software installation, and data archiving within VME-based control, test, and embedded computing environments. The product entered the Restricted Production Phase (RPP) on July 1, 2011, but remains a critical component for maintaining legacy VME systems.
