Product Short Description

  • Product Name
    • 3500 Series Transient Data Interface (TDI) I/O Module
  • Product Introduction

This module is a key I/O component of Bently Nevada’s 3500 series machinery condition monitoring system. It integrates the functions of a rack interface module and the data collection capability of a communication processor. It is specifically designed to act as a communication bridge between the 3500 monitoring system and compatible software such as System 1 condition monitoring and diagnostic software, as well as 3500 system configuration software. It must be installed in the slot adjacent to the power supply of the 3500 rack and interfaces seamlessly with M-series monitors to continuously gather steady-state and transient dynamic waveform data. The collected data is then transmitted to host software via an Ethernet link for in-depth analysis and diagnosis. It is not part of the critical monitoring path, so its operation will not affect the normal operation of the overall automatic machinery protection monitoring system, and each 3500 rack must be equipped with this module or an equivalent rack interface module.

Description

  • Technical Specifications
    • Power Parameters: It adopts a 24V DC power supply and has a power consumption of 10.5 watts. The maximum current for its dry contact to common is less than 1mA DC, which can stably adapt to the power supply environment of industrial sites and avoid excessive power consumption affecting the overall system.
    • Communication Specifications: It is equipped with a 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet interface and also supports 100Base-FX fiber-optic connectivity. The Ethernet interface enables data transmission at speeds of 10/100 Mbps. A USB-B interface on the front panel facilitates on-site data transfer and parameter configuration.
    • Data Collection Performance: Static data capture is a standard function, and the module can achieve dynamic and high-resolution transient data capture when equipped with an optional channel enabling disk. It continuously collects steady-state and transient dynamic data including waveform data when connected to M-series monitors.
    • Physical Indicators: It has a compact structure with dimensions of 9.50 inches × 0.96 inches × 3.90 inches and a weight of 0.20 kg. This small size allows it to fit perfectly into the 3500 series standard rack without occupying excessive space.
    • Environmental and Certification Standards: It is certified by CSA/NRTL/C for use in Class 1, Division 2 hazardous environments. It can operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and has a protection level of IP67, which enables it to maintain stable performance in harsh industrial environments.
  • Function Features
    • Integrated Functional Integration: It combines the dual functions of a rack interface module and a communication processor, eliminating the need for additional external modules and redundant wiring. This integration simplifies the overall structure of the 3500 system and reduces the difficulty and cost of system installation and later maintenance.
    • Flexible Data Collection Expansion: With static data collection as a standard configuration, users can purchase an optional channel enabling disk according to their actual monitoring needs to obtain dynamic data collection capabilities. This flexible configuration method meets the different data monitoring requirements of various industrial scenarios.
    • Dual Communication Mode Support: It supports both Ethernet and fiber-optic connectivity options. This dual-mode design enables seamless integration with different types of existing industrial networks, ensuring stable and efficient data transmission even in complex network environments.
    • Reliable Structural and Contact Design: It is equipped with gold-plated relay contacts that enhance the reliability and durability of signal transmission and reduce signal loss or contact failure caused by long-term use. The module also supports hot-plug implementation, allowing for on-site replacement and maintenance without shutting down the entire system.
    • Easy On-site Operation: The front-panel USB-B interface allows on-site personnel to quickly transfer data and make parameter adjustments. It can be used with matching operation and maintenance user guides to simplify the processes of on-site debugging and daily inspection.
  • Application Scenarios
    • Petrochemical Refineries: It is deployed to monitor the operating status of key equipment such as compressors, pumps, and gearboxes. Its certification for hazardous environments enables it to work stably in areas with flammable and explosive gas risks, providing real-time data support for equipment fault diagnosis.
    • Power Generation Facilities: It is widely used in thermal, hydro, and nuclear power plants to monitor steam turbines, generators, and other rotating machinery. It collects vibration and transient data in real time, helping technicians detect abnormal equipment conditions early and ensuring the continuous and safe operation of power generation systems.
    • Oil and Gas Drilling Sites: It is installed on offshore drilling platforms and onshore oil transmission stations. It resists high humidity, strong corrosion, and large temperature fluctuations, monitoring drilling machinery and pipeline pumps to ensure the smooth progress of oil and gas extraction and transportation operations.
    • Metallurgical Plants: It is applied to the monitoring system of rolling mills, blast furnace auxiliary fans, and other equipment in steel plants. It can operate normally in dusty environments with large temperature changes, continuously collecting equipment operation data to avoid production interruptions caused by equipment failures.
    • Heavy Industrial Machinery Production Lines: It is integrated into the test run links of large rotating machinery production. It helps manufacturers collect steady-state and transient data of mechanical components during operation, providing data support for optimizing product design and improving the reliability of finished machinery products.
