Product Short Description
Product Introduction The EPRO MMS6823R is a high-performance data acquisition and vibration monitoring module designed for critical rotating machinery protection systems. It processes signals from eddy current proximity sensors to measure shaft vibration, axial displacement, and position parameters. The module provides high-precision signal conditioning, filtering, and output capabilities, and supports integration with DCS, PLC, and machinery diagnostic systems.

- Manufacturing and metallurgy large rotating machinery monitoring
- Integration with turbine control and protection systems
- Hazardous area installations in explosive atmospheres
Working Principle Based on the eddy current effect, the sensor probe generates an alternating electromagnetic field that induces eddy currents in the target metal surface. Changes in distance between the probe and target modify the field impedance, which the module converts into proportional electrical signals representing displacement and vibration. These signals are processed, filtered, and output for monitoring and control purposes.
Installation Requirements
- Install in standard MMS series rack chassis
- Align eddy current probes perpendicular to target shaft surface
- Set proper initial gap distance according to sensor specifications
- Use shielded, properly grounded sensor cables
- Ensure ambient operating temperature stays within specified range
- Comply with explosion protection regulations when installed in hazardous areas
Operating Notes
- Calibrate sensor and module assembly prior to commissioning
- Regularly inspect probe condition and gap distance
- Avoid strong electromagnetic fields near sensor cables
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures when servicing modules in energized systems
- Replace faulty modules only with identical MMS series compatible components
