Functional Features​

Supports 4-20 mA analog output with HART protocol capability in the associated output loop. Detects open-wire conditions and reports output discrepancies through readback. Configurable FAILOPT behavior allows each channel to hold the last value or shed to a safe value. Short-circuit protection safeguards the field loop. Non-incendive output supports suitable Class 1, Division 2 or Zone 2 installations.

Application Scenarios​

Control-valve positioners, smart valve actuators, I/P converters, variable-frequency drives, chemical dosing pumps, burner control actuators, and boiler or turbine analog set-point loops. Applicable to oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Performance Parameters​

Eight isolated outputs provide independent control loops. The 800 Ω maximum load at 24 VDC allows long cable runs when loop resistance remains within limit. Output readback supports detection of open, shorted or discrepant field loops. Actual calibrated performance depends on the paired output module, field load, supply voltage and project configuration.

Installation Requirements​

Mount CC-TAOX01 in the assigned Series C carrier position and install the approved 8-channel analog output module. Connect shielded twisted-pair field wiring to the output terminals, observing polarity and common connection. Confirm loop load does not exceed 800 Ω at the available 24 VDC supply. Configure output range, FAILOPT action and HART settings in the Experion project before placing the loop in automatic control.

Usage Precautions​

De-energize field power and backplane power before wiring unless the carrier explicitly supports hot replacement. Do not substitute CC-TAOX01 for a redundant analog output IOTA without verifying carrier and module compatibility. Keep shield terminations at the designated cabinet ground point to avoid ground loops. Test both HOLD LAST VALUE and SHED TO SAFE VALUE logic during commissioning because incorrect fail-safe behavior can create unsafe actuator movement during power or communication loss.
