Product Short Description
Product Name
GHISALBA GHOPC-410B single-pole soft-starter bypass contactor, material code AAV66870.
Product Introduction
This device is a dedicated bypass contactor for thyristor soft starters. It closes after ramp starting is complete to bypass the SCR power section, reduce heat generation and improve efficiency in large-motor control assemblies.
Description
Technical Specifications
Single-pole normally open contact, continuous thermal current 410 A. Rated insulation voltage 690 V AC, impulse withstand 6 kV. Coil version B includes internal rectifier, control 230 V AC 50 Hz with approximately 196 V DC coil output. Main termination by copper busbar bolts, control termination by plug/terminal according to assembly. Protection class IP20 for cubicle mounting. Standards IEC 60947, CE marking.
Function Features
Low-resistance silver-alloy contacts, integrated rectifier coil, surge absorption for coil circuit, single-pole construction for phase-by-phase bypass, reduced steady-state losses after soft start.
Application Scenarios
Soft-start cabinets for pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and crushers, three-phase motor starters requiring three bypass contactors, retrofit of thyristor soft-starter bypass sections.
Performance Parameters
Steady-state conduction 410 A per pole, insulation 690 V AC, coil drive through internal rectification, low contact heating under continuous load, suitable for long-duration bypass duty only.
Material Composition
Silver-alloy contact tips, copper conducting bars, electromagnetic coil with rectifier and varistor suppression, thermoset/engineering-plastic insulating housing, metal mounting bracket.
Structural Characteristics
Single-pole contactor body with integral rectifier and surge suppressor, bolted high-current terminals and pluggable coil connection. No arc-chute/short-circuit breaking chamber; designed for bypass rather than switching faults.
Working Principle
During motor acceleration the soft starter thyristors control voltage. When ramp completion is reached, the controller energizes the contactor coil, the electromagnetic armature closes the main pole and motor current is redirected through the contactor. The thyristors then remain forward-biased or de-energized, reducing thermal loss.
Installation Requirements
Install inside a ventilated switchgear/soft-starter cubicle. For three-phase motors use three single-pole units phased correctly. Torque main busbar connections to specified values. Provide upstream short-circuit protection and proper coil control voltage.
Usage Precautions
Do not use for direct motor starting, frequent switching or breaking short-circuit current. It is not a general AC-3 contactor and has no full arc-breaking capability. Inspect terminal tightness, contact temperature and coil suppressor periodically.
