Product Short Description
Product Name: 873EC Smart Electromagnetic Flow Transmitter
Product Introduction: The 873EC-JIPFGZ-5 is a microprocessor-based magnetic flowmeter transmitter from Foxboro (Schneider Electric) measuring conductive liquid flow through a flanged sensor using Faraday induction, with HART and 4–20 mA output.
Description
Technical Specifications:
- Flow range: 0.01–1000 m³/h (dependent on line size)
- Accuracy: ±0.2 % of full scale
- Fluid temp: -20 to +150 °C
- Pressure: up to 1.6 MPa standard (higher on request)
- Liner: PTFE or PFA
- Electrodes: Hastelloy C-276
- Output: 4–20 mA + HART 7
- Supply: 24 VDC ±10 %, < 8 W
- Ambient: -40 to +70 °C
- Enclosure: IP67, optional Ex d IIB T4 / Ex ia IIIC T4
- Sizes: DN15–DN600 flanged
Functional Features: Empty-pipe detection, self-diagnostics, temperature compensation, reversible flow measurement, bidirectional totalization, EMI/RFI shielded electronics.
Working Principle: An energized coil induces a magnetic field across the pipe; conducting fluid cutting the field generates a voltage proportional to velocity, which the transmitter linearizes into flow rate.
Application Scenarios: Acid/alkali dosing in petrochemical plants, slurry and wastewater flow, food-grade liquid batching with PTFE liner, utility water metering.
Structural Characteristics: Separate or integral amplifier head, PTFE-lined carbon-steel or stainless body, dual Hastelloy electrodes, flanged process connection, rotary LCD head.
Installation Requirements: Full pipe condition mandatory; electrode plane vertical for non-conductive solids; ground ring or lining-ground electrode required; straight run 5D upstream / 3D downstream; avoid strong AC fields.
Usage Notes: Fluid conductivity must exceed ~5 µS/cm; degas lines before zeroing; do not power 24 VDC from shared noisy supply; recalibrate after liner replacement.
