Working Principle: The controller manages the E84 communication protocol between the transport vehicle and the process equipment. Using Hokuyo infrared transceivers (or optional hardwired connections), it performs the standardized three-phase E84 handshaking sequence to safely transfer load port ownership. The embedded design allows it to be permanently installed within the equipment’s electrical enclosure.
Installation Requirements: Install inside the process or transport equipment enclosure, ensuring the 12 V DC power supply is available. Position Hokuyo IR transceivers appropriately for optical communication alignment. For equipment with 2 load ports, transceivers may be mounted on both top and bottom of the equipment.
Usage Precautions: For direct-connect (hardwired) E84 applications, optical isolation between transport and process equipment is required per SEMI E84 specification—this is available as an add-on option. When using Hokuyo IR transceivers, ensure clear optical line-of-sight. Maintain operating temperature within -20 to +60 °C.
