- Bus role: Passive slave
- Maximum transmission rate: 12 Mbit/s (auto baud-rate detection)
- Valve control capacity: up to 16 single-solenoid or 8 double-solenoid valves
- Compatible valve series: VQ1000/VQ2000 (with EX120-SPR1-B); SY3000/SY5000 (with EX121/EX122 variants)
- Addressing: Hardware (rotary switch) or software (bus protocol)
- Recommended bus cable: Type A per EN 50170
- Diagnostics: 3 LEDs — RUN (green), DIA (red), BF (red)
Functional Characteristics: The solenoid valve manifold is internally wired, requiring only bus-line and power-supply connections. Automatic baud-rate detection simplifies commissioning. LED diagnostics provide at-a-glance status of supply voltage, bus communication, and valve control state.
Application Scenarios: Factory automation, pneumatic control systems, and any application requiring fieldbus-based centralized control of multiple solenoid valves.
Working Principle: The SI unit receives PROFIBUS-DP telegrams from the master PLC, decodes valve-state commands, and energizes the appropriate solenoid coils in the connected manifold.
Installation Requirements: Connect to PROFIBUS-DP bus using EN 50170 Type A cable. Provide adequate power supply to the valve manifold. Set station address via rotary switch or software configuration.
Usage Notes: Only one SI unit is needed per manifold — it internally distributes control to all connected valves. The unit must be the correct variant (EX120 vs. EX121 vs. EX122) to match the target valve series.
