Product Short Description
Product Name: Prosonic FMU30 Ultrasonic Level Transmitter (solids version)
Product Overview: The FMU30-10A10 is a two-wire compact ultrasonic transmitter from the Prosonic FMU30 series, engineered for continuous non-contact level measurement of bulk solids in silos and containers. It delivers a 10 m measuring range, a 4–20 mA analog output with HART communication, and a 2″ NPT process connection.

Key Features: Non-contact measurement immune to dust and abrasive materials; advanced echo-processing for reliable reading despite dust or product angle; HART for remote configuration, calibration and diagnostics; submersible IP68 housing for harsh industrial environments; hazardous-area approvals for explosive atmospheres; commissioning via local display or PC software.
Working Principle: The transmitter emits ultrasonic pulses toward the material surface. The time-of-flight for the echo to return is measured and converted into a distance/level value, which is transmitted as a 4–20 mA signal with HART digital overlay.
Application Scenarios: Continuous level measurement of powders, grains, pellets and other bulk solids in silos; inventory management in food, chemical, plastics and mining industries; level monitoring in hoppers and bins; measurement under dusty or humid conditions.
Installation Requirements: Mount vertically above the material surface avoiding obstructions in the acoustic path; respect the 0.35 m blind distance; use 2″ NPT process opening; route the ½” NPT conduit for electrical connection; ensure loop supply is within 10.5–42 V DC.
Usage Notes: Keep the sensor face clean; avoid foam, heavy turbulence or fast fill/discharge rates (FMU42 or FMU90+FDU9x are recommended for those conditions); verify ATEX/IECEx rating matches the specific hazardous-zone requirement before installation.
