Product Short Description
Product Name: Faraday Technology FLB0400 General Purpose Low-Pass Filter
Product Introduction: The FLB0400 is a 7-pole elliptical function low-pass filter from Faraday Technology’s FLB… series. It is derived from a well-proven, versatile design for high-transparency applications, offered in a reduced size. The filter is corrected for group delay beyond the passband edge (104%), minimizing time-domain ringing, and corrected for loss distortion over the entire passband. It is optimized for composite video signal processing where minimal degradation is essential.

- Package: DR00112A
- Operating principle: Elliptical (Cauer) filter topology providing sharp roll-off characteristics
Functional Features:
- 7-pole elliptical response for steep attenuation slope
- Group-delay correction minimizes time-domain ringing
- Minimal composite video signal degradation
- 75 Ω characteristic impedance matching standard video systems
- Custom end-of-passband frequencies available at no extra cost (e.g., FLB0523 for 5.23 MHz)
Application Scenarios: Composite video signal filtering in 525-line (NTSC) and 625-line (PAL) television systems, broadcast equipment, video processing chains, and high-transparency signal conditioning where 4 MHz passband is required. When a 4.5 MHz filter is selected for a 525-line TV system (or 5.5 MHz for 625-line), degradation of the composite video signal is minimal.
Installation Requirements: The FLB0400 is supplied in package DR00112A. It should be installed in a 75 Ω impedance-controlled signal path. PCB layout must maintain 75 Ω trace impedance to preserve filter characteristics. Not aqueous washable — avoid wash processes.
Usage Precautions: The filter is not aqueous washable — do not subject it to water-based cleaning processes. Maintain 75 Ω source and load impedance for specified performance. For applications requiring different cutoff frequencies within the 2.75–10 MHz range, order the corresponding FLB**** part number with the desired frequency inserted in place of the asterisk.
