Operating Principle: Uses the Xlink real-time Ethernet protocol to bridge PROFIBUS-DP and Ethernet. With two Ethernet interfaces, an electric ring can be configured via CAT5 cables, or network/server redundancy can be implemented in star-shaped networks with switches. Each unit can connect up to 124 PROFIBUS-DP slaves to the AutomationX system.
Installation Requirements: DIN rail mounting inside control cabinet. Provide stable 14–30 V DC power (redundant 24 V DC recommended). Use shielded twisted-pair Ethernet cable (Cat5e or better). Properly terminate and bias PROFIBUS-DP segments. Connect both Ethernet interfaces for ring or redundant topologies.
