Installation Requirements: Install directly to the DTE or workstation AUI port. If using an AUI drop cable, ensure it does not exceed 50 m (164 ft.). Select SQE Test/Heartbeat function ON or OFF depending on DTE requirements. Disable SQE Test if connected to an Ethernet repeater. Connect fiber optic cable connectors to the ST-type transceiver, ensuring TX on one side connects to RX on the opposite device.
Usage Precautions: For mechanical fit with some Sun Microsystems SPARCstation and Apple Mac II models, an AUI extender adapter (AT-ADAPT-1) may be required.
