Product Short Description
Product Introduction
The LMC009A-R5 is a ruggedized industrial-grade media converter that converts electrical 10/100BASE-TX twisted-pair Ethernet signals to optical 100BASE-FX fiber signals. It eliminates distance limitations of copper Ethernet cabling and isolates electrical surges, ground loop interference and lightning transient noise between factory equipment. Designed for harsh factory automation, transportation and outdoor cabinet environments, this model supports multi-mode fiber transmission and features wide-range DC power input

Working Principle
Ethernet data packets transmitted over twisted-pair copper cable enter the RJ45 electrical port. Internal signal processing circuit converts electrical differential signals into serial optical modulation signals. The built-in optical transceiver drives the laser transmitter to emit modulated light signals onto multi-mode fiber. On the receiving end of fiber, the optical module converts light signals back to electrical Ethernet signals. The integrated link monitoring circuit continuously detects signal integrity on both ports. When link disconnection occurs on one side, LFPT function immediately marks the opposite channel as link-down, allowing upper-layer PLC or switch to capture fault alarms without additional programming. Optical medium prevents conductive surge energy from propagating across network segments.

Installation Requirements
- Install on standard 35 mm DIN rail inside industrial control cabinet or outdoor sealed equipment enclosure
- Route fiber cables separately from high-current servo and inverter power cables; maintain minimum 20 cm separation distance
- Do not bend fiber cable below minimum bending radius specified by fiber manufacturer
- Connect power supply with correct polarity; verify DC voltage stays within 12–48 VDC range
- Clean SC fiber connector end faces with optical cleaning tools before insertion to avoid signal attenuation
- Ground converter metal housing to cabinet PE protective earth terminal for optimal EMC performance
- Maintain 10 mm minimum clearance around unit for natural convection cooling
Application Scenarios
- Factory machine vision system long-distance data transmission between cameras and control cabinets
- Remote distributed PLC networking across workshop areas
- Railway station wayside control cabinet industrial Ethernet communication
- Water treatment plant remote instrument and control network extension
- Port and logistics automation equipment long-distance data communication
- Building automation remote control node fiber network extension
Usage Precautions
- Do not stare directly into the active fiber optical port; invisible infrared light may cause eye damage
- Avoid repeatedly plugging and unplugging fiber connectors to prevent wear of contact surface
- Keep fiber ports covered with dust caps when unused to prevent dust contamination
- Check LED indicator status regularly; continuous link loss indicates fiber breakage or dirty connectors
- Do not install in environments with corrosive gas, heavy conductive dust or oil mist without sealed cabinet protection
- Disconnect power before replacing fiber cables
- Lightning surge protection must be installed on copper Ethernet cable inlet for outdoor exposed wiring
