Product Short Description

Product Overview

This modular rack-mounted I/O network interface card is exclusively matched with Vibro-Meter VM600 machinery protection and condition monitoring systems. It acts as a bridge between field vibration sensors, system backplane CPU, and external industrial communication networks, responsible for multi-channel dynamic signal acquisition, speed pulse collection, signal conditioning, and cross-network data forwarding. It complies with SIL 2 machinery safety standards and ATEX hazardous area certification, designed for continuous 24/7 monitoring of high-value rotating equipment in energy and heavy industry sectors

Working Principle

  1. Vibration/speed sensor analog signals enter front-end conditioning circuit, amplify weak charge/voltage signals and filter out high-frequency electromagnetic noise
  2. 24-bit high-speed ADC converts analog vibration signals to digital data, on-board FPGA executes real-time vibration characteristic calculation
  3. Processed digital data transmits to VM600 rack CPU via dedicated backplane bus for machinery protection logic judgment
  4. Module encapsulates vibration health data into industrial Ethernet/RS485 protocol frames and uploads to remote SCADA, DCS or historian systems
  5. When vibration amplitude exceeds user-defined threshold, internal relay outputs trigger shutdown interlock or local alarm signals

Installation Requirements

  1. Install in standard 19-inch industrial control cabinet rack, fixed by front panel captive screws to resist mechanical vibration
  2. Maintain minimum 20mm ventilation gap above and below module for heat dissipation; avoid mounting adjacent to high-power heating components
  3. Separate sensor signal cables and power cables with cable tray isolation to prevent cross-talk interference
  4. Equip external 24VDC power supply with surge protection device (SPD) for lightning and transient voltage suppression
  5. Ground cabinet shielding frame and module earth terminal to factory protective earth with 4mm² copper cable
  6. In hazardous explosive areas, comply with ATEX wiring specifications, use intrinsically safe shielded sensor cables

Application Scenarios

  • Thermal power plant steam/gas turbine, generator set monitoring & protection
  • Oil & gas compressor, centrifugal pump, gearbox predictive maintenance
  • Hydroelectric water turbine, large fan and blower condition monitoring
  • Chemical plant high-speed rotating equipment safety interlock systems
  • Heavy industry steel mill rolling mill motor and reducer vibration protection

Operation & Maintenance Notes

  1. Do not hot-swap module when rack power is energized to avoid backplane bus damage
  2. Calibrate sensor input gain and filter parameters through VM600 configuration software before formal operation
  3. Clean front panel ventilation slits every 6 months to prevent dust accumulation leading to overheating
  4. Check terminal screw tightness quarterly; loose terminals cause signal drift and false alarms
  5. Store spare modules in temperature-controlled dry warehouse with anti-static packaging
  6. Replace conformal coating every 5 years for modules deployed in high-humidity coastal chemical environments
