Working Principle
Three-phase alternating current supplied by Lenze servo drive generates alternating electromagnetic fields within the iron-core primary coil assembly. Magnetic interaction between coil electromagnetic flux and fixed NdFeB permanent magnets on the secondary track produces continuous linear thrust force. EnDat absolute encoder continuously transmits precise linear position coordinates back to the servo drive for closed-loop positioning control. Embedded PTC thermal sensors output resistance signals to the drive unit to trigger power limitation when winding temperature exceeds safe threshold. Integrated liquid cooling circulates coolant through internal channels to dissipate continuous high-load thermal energy.
Advantage Highlights
- Liquid cooling design maintains full rated continuous thrust without performance derating
- High thrust density iron-core construction reduces required motor footprint for heavy-load applications
- Absolute EnDat feedback removes mandatory homing procedure after power cycle restarts
- Optimized low cogging magnetic design ensures ultra-smooth micro-positioning at low travel speeds
- Modular magnet track segments support unlimited customizable stroke lengths
- Native compatibility with all Lenze i500, 9400 series servo drives without interface conversion adapters
Applicable Industries
Automotive assembly lines, metal stamping equipment, laser cutting machinery, automated testing stations, packaging filling equipment, semiconductor wafer handling, precision machine tool feed axes, logistics sorting conveyors
Installation Requirements
- Mount magnet secondary track on flat precision ground steel machine base with flatness tolerance ≤ 0.02 mm/m
- Install external closed-loop liquid cooling system with ethylene glycol mixed coolant, flow rate minimum 4 L/min
- Align primary coil unit parallel to magnet track with air gap tolerance maintained at 0.8 mm ± 0.05 mm
- Secure all track mounting bolts with specified torque of 32 N·m to prevent thermal expansion shifting
- Route hybrid power-feedback cable via flexible cable carrier with minimum bend radius 120 mm
- Connect PTC thermal sensor wiring directly to corresponding Lenze servo drive safety input terminals
Operation Precautions
- Do not operate motor without active liquid cooling system under continuous thrust loads above 1000 N
- Maintain sealed magnet track surface free of metal swarf, dust and cutting fluid contamination
- Avoid mechanical impact collision to primary coil unit during machine commissioning
- Limit continuous operation ambient temperature to maximum +40 °C; install forced air ventilation for elevated temperature environments
- Perform air gap calibration inspection every 6 months of continuous production operation
- Replace cooling system filter element every 3 months to prevent channel flow blockage and overheating
