Working Principle

The unit continuously polls all connected binary sensor inputs via isolated signal circuits. Analog threshold conversion and digital signal filtering eliminate marine electrical interference noise. Valid alarm triggers are timestamped, stored in on-board flash memory, broadcast to remote operator terminals via redundant CAN/Ethernet buses, and activate corresponding relay output contacts for audible/visual alarm annunciators. Internal watchdog circuit monitors CPU operation to trigger safe reset upon processor lockup.

Advantage Highlights

  1. Full marine classification society certification for global commercial ship installation
  2. Redundant communication architecture ensures uninterrupted alarm monitoring during single bus failure
  3. Modular pluggable hardware minimizes vessel onboard maintenance downtime
  4. Wide operating voltage tolerance adapts to unstable marine 24 VDC power grids
  5. High-capacity non-volatile event logger eliminates requirement for external recording hardware
  6. Marine-specific EMC filtering suppresses interference from propulsion frequency converters and radar equipment

Applicable Industries

Commercial cargo vessels, container ships, oil tankers, bulk carriers, passenger ferries, naval auxiliary vessels, offshore support vessels, floating production storage and offloading units (FPSO)

Installation Requirements

  1. Mount inside climate-controlled electrical machinery room cabinet with ambient humidity ≤ 90% non-condensing
  2. Maintain minimum 50 mm clearance above and below unit for forced air convection cooling
  3. Separate signal wiring and high-power relay wiring by minimum 10 cm distance to avoid cross-interference
  4. Connect dedicated marine-grade 24 VDC filtered power supply with surge protection device at input terminal
  5. Equip cabinet with vibration damping mounting brackets to comply with marine vibration standards
  6. Earth unit chassis to vessel protective ground bus with 4 mm² copper ground cable

Operation Precautions

  1. Do not operate unit under ambient temperature exceeding +60 °C or below -20 °C
  2. Avoid direct exposure to saltwater spray, water splashes or high-humidity unventilated compartments
  3. Disconnect primary power supply before removing pluggable I/O modules
  4. Clear alarm event logs only after completing official vessel machinery inspection records
  5. Do not daisy-chain more than 16 EMP2200 units on a single CAN bus segment
  6. Conduct full input/output channel calibration every 12 months per marine classification regulations
