Working Principle

24VAC safety extra low voltage power supplies internal CPU, communication circuits and on-board I/O terminal circuitry. The controller continuously scans all connected analog temperature/humidity sensors and digital equipment status inputs at configurable sampling intervals. Embedded real-time CPU executes user-programmed control logic and pre-built HVAC algorithm libraries to calculate required output signals for fan relays, chilled water valve actuators and air damper positioning drives. Process data, alarm events and real-time operating parameters are cached in onboard flash memory and accessible via the embedded web server over Ethernet IP networks. The integrated multi-protocol communication stack exchanges measurement and control data with upstream Metasys supervisory servers and downstream MS/TP field terminal controllers simultaneously. Jumper-configurable RS-485 bias resistors optimize bus signal integrity for long-distance field wiring runs.

Installation Requirements

  1. Install exclusively inside lockable electrical control cabinets with minimum IP54 environmental protection rating
  2. Vertical DIN rail mounting mandatory; horizontal installation blocks ventilation slots and causes thermal overheating
  3. Reserve minimum 20mm vertical clearance above and below controller housing for natural convection cooling airflow
  4. Separate 24VAC power wiring from RS-485 MS/TP field bus cabling by minimum 8cm distance to reduce electrical noise interference
  5. Use shielded twisted pair CAT5e Ethernet cable for all IP network connections with single-point cabinet earth shielding termination
  6. Adjust RS-485 bus termination jumpers only at the physical two far-end devices on the MS/TP wiring trunk

Application Scenarios

Commercial office building air handling unit control, retail shopping mall VAV zone HVAC regulation, hotel guest room ventilation and temperature control, school campus classroom air conditioning systems, warehouse energy-efficient ventilation management, small data center precision cooling supervision, restaurant kitchen exhaust fan interlock control

Operation & Maintenance Notes

  1. Conduct semi-annual firmware upgrade via embedded web interface to update BACnet protocol compatibility and energy optimization algorithm patches
  2. Clean cabinet ventilation filter screens monthly to prevent dust accumulation blocking controller cooling slots
  3. Avoid mounting within 1 meter of variable frequency fan drives or high-current contactors generating strong electromagnetic noise
  4. Replace internal backup coin cell every 5 years to prevent loss of real-time clock and scheduled control logic during power outages
  5. Export archived historical trend data quarterly via web server to external storage for building energy consumption audit records
  6. Disconnect 24VAC power supply before removing plug-in I/O terminal blocks to eliminate short-circuit wiring hazards
