- Flat front blind surface fully covering unused panel port openings
Working Principle
When inserted into unused FS fire alarm communication bus terminals, internal 120 Ω precision resistor connects across the two bus signal lines to match the characteristic impedance of the fire detection two-wire loop cable. This matched load eliminates signal reflection at unterminated cable endpoints, stabilizes digital address communication waveforms, prevents data transmission errors and false fire fault alarms triggered by distorted bus signals. Plastic housing physically blocks exposed metal terminal pins to prevent accidental short-circuit contact with conductive debris or maintenance tools.
Advantage Highlights
- Factory-calibrated precision termination resistor eliminates manual resistor wiring errors
- Flame retardant housing complies with fire safety system component material standards
- Plug-and-play installation without wiring assembly labor
- Dual functionality of electrical impedance matching and physical port hazard isolation
- Universal compatibility across all Honeywell FS fire alarm controller variants
Applicable Industries
Commercial high-rise buildings, industrial manufacturing plant fire safety systems, airport terminal fire alarm networks, hospital facility fire detection systems, shopping mall addressable fire control panels, underground parking fire safety infrastructure
Installation Requirements
- Insert fully into vacant FS communication bus port until audible latch engagement click is heard
- Install one FS-BLIND-COM per unused two-wire communication bus terminal pair
- Verify no loose contact between plug pins and panel port metal terminals after insertion
- Locate all blind plugs inside fire control panel closed enclosure; no field exposed mounting permitted
Usage Precautions
- Do not modify internal resistor wiring or cut plug housing plastic structure
- Replace plug immediately if gold contact plating shows oxidation or corrosion discoloration
- Do not substitute generic uncalibrated resistors in place of FS-BLIND-COM for bus termination
- Remove blind plugs only when installing active field communication modules into respective ports
