Working Principle

The module receives addressable digital signals and 4–20mA analog gas concentration signals from field flame/gas detectors installed in hazardous zones via isolated EQP bus circuit; internal microcontroller processes signal data, stores real-time status and alarm records in flash memory, transmits standardized safety data to primary EQP safety controller; simultaneously receives interlock command signals from controller and drives four independent relay contact outputs to trigger external shutdown, ventilation and alarm equipment; when dual redundant controllers are configured, the module automatically detects master controller fault and switches signal transmission to standby controller without signal interruption.

Installation Requirements

  1. Install inside non-hazardous safe-area control cabinet only, cannot be directly mounted in Zone 0/1 hazardous areas
  2. Use intrinsically safe shielded blue cable for EQP bus wiring, comply with ATEX intrinsic safety wiring specifications
  3. Maintain ≥ 30mm gap between adjacent rack modules for heat dissipation
  4. Cabinet protective earth wire connected to module rack ground terminal with 2.5mm² copper conductor
  5. Maximum bus wiring length between module and field detectors limited to 1000 meters

Usage Precautions

  1. Do not open module housing in hazardous classified locations; disconnect all power before maintenance disassembly
  2. Intrinsically safe circuit wiring must be separated from non-intrinsic safe power wiring with minimum 50mm spacing
  3. Do not connect voltage exceeding 30V DC to field bus terminals, will damage intrinsic safety isolation circuit
  4. Download historical log data every 90 days for long-term continuous operation systems to avoid memory overflow
