Working Principle
RS-232C single-ended unbalanced signal is captured by input buffer circuit, converted to isolated TTL logic signal via optocoupler, then modulated into differential voltage signal for RS-485 bus output. Reverse transmission process converts differential RS-485 bus signal back to standard single-ended RS-232C electrical level through isolated signal isolation circuit. Automatic hardware logic detects data transmission state to switch RS-485 transmit/receive mode without software control signal.
Advantage Highlights
- Complete galvanic isolation eliminates industrial ground loop noise interference
- Wide-range industrial DC power input adapts to cabinet power fluctuation
- Auto-direction control removes external wiring control requirement for RS485 bus
- High-level EMC electromagnetic compatibility meets CE industrial automation standard
- Compact DIN rail structure saves control cabinet internal installation space
Applicable Industries
Marine automation, factory process control, building HVAC monitoring, energy power distribution, water treatment plant, material handling conveyor systems
Installation Requirements
- Mount module vertically on standard 35 mm DIN top-hat rail inside sealed electrical control cabinet
- Separate power cable and RS485 bus wiring from high-power AC drive cables with minimum 10 cm clearance
- Install 120 Ω termination resistor at two extreme endpoints of RS485 bus cable
- Connect module ground terminal to cabinet protective earth copper bar
Operation Precautions
- Strictly prohibit reverse connection of 24 VDC power positive and negative terminals
- Do not operate the module in environments with condensed water, corrosive gas or conductive dust
- Cut off power supply before plugging/unplugging RS232 DB9 connector to avoid signal chip burnout
- Limit total bus node quantity to maximum 32 devices to prevent bus load overload
- Use shielded twisted pair cable exclusively for RS485 bus wiring, connect shield layer to single-point earth
